Re: anyone bought a devon roof canvas recently?

Cheers for that guys, seems like most of the companies making them are good.
I've been quoted £300 incl. vat & sundries ie which I didn't think was too bad but I reackon I'll probably do it myself (rope a mate or 2 in). It doesn't look difficult just time consuming!
I'll let you know how I get on.

anyone bought a devon roof canvas recently?

Hi. Haven't been on here for a while but was just wondering if anyone had any advice on buying a new devon roof canvas. I have found a place near me to have it fitted but I'm hearing different opinions on the quality of the canvases. Proud to pop do the devon moonraker stripe, as do outermotive alth...

Re: Spain & Portugal

Don't be put off by Portugal.. it's a fantastic place to travel. We did 3 months round W europe in 2001 & Portugal was our favourite place. I would highly recommend a little campsite in Luso (nr Coimbra).. there's this amazing forest called Bucaso nearby which is so well worth a couple of days. ...

Hi Rich... Rob here from Shrewsbury. That looks wicked mate, hoping to do mine before long. I saw your van a while back on the M54 and was very envious as mine is exactly the same colour as yours but the old rust has set in again and will need another respray done soon. (doing it on the cheap doesn'...

I'm sure you'll be fine doing that. It's the seat belt that takes all the pressure in an accident so the seat would only be a platform for the child seat to rest on. My lap belts are bolted to the chassis really well, just make sure you fit them properly (or professionally)! There's only a few child...

With mine, it's always a bitch to light but in the end it always gets going. Gas fridges have some kind of themo thing that if the flame goes out the gas will cut off. Therefore when you go to light it you need to push the knob in and hold it, turn it to say 3 and hold it there for a few seconds (10...

Mate... I bought a carbon monoxide detector for mine as I use the gas fridge all the time. I know it works as when I'm cooking it starts to rise when I have the grill on (the rings don't affect it), but this is not enough for the alarm to go off. It doesn't move above 0ppm when just the fridge is ru...

Lets face it boys and girls... the ONLY engine that should be in these vans is the Aircooled petrol (with gas if you like). I'll never know what posessed VW to go with the 'other' engines... they sound all wrong for a start and there's potentially tons more stuff to go wrong (ie a complete water coo...

We've been 5 or 6 times now and once was for 3 months (incl spain & portugal) and we've never booked a site once. There are loads and loads in France. One of the best things we ever did was buy the Alan Rogers campsite guide.. every site in there is inspected annually and we've never had a bad o...

This is how we did it... you need an awning for the passenger seat though! Take the passenger seat out (small clip on the side) and put it in the awning. Then I had a piece of 12mm ply with a leg on it and a small notch for the gearstick and this sat on the seat base. We then had the graco multicolo...

Your problem solved

Hi... we had this one when our two were young. If you're getting an awning the this is how we did it: We got the multicoloured Graco travel cot (slightly smaller than the average). We took the passenger seat out (small clip on the runner by the door) and put it in the awning. Then I made a board sli...

Devon interior door catches

Has anyone ever needed to replace these and if so where did you get them from. I'm after 2 of them as I'm replacing a couple of my doors.
Cheers Rob
