Hi
I basically swopped the old pump which wasn't working at all for a new pump. Connected the same pipe. I took the pipe off to see if the water was pumping out and it was.

Comet Elegant 12v Water pump
Hi Just wired up a new water pump, the 12v blue Comet Elegant. Turned the tap on and the pumps working. But my problem is when I connect the pipe to the pump the water doesn't reach the tap. Ok I thought air must be in the pipe so I sucked some water from the tap for about 20 min. But no water flow. ...

Re: Takes ages to start
Hi thanks for reply.
My starter turns quite quick being a fairly new one. I think the problem is while standing the fuel is running back. I shone a torch under the fuel pipe and saw it going back with a few air bubbles. Air getting in somewhere maybe??
Cheers.

Re: 1.9td AAZ cuts out now and again??
Hi after a lot of head scratching I figured out what the problem was. The engine needed a new fuel filter and valve which fits on the top with a clip. Heard hissing sound from the pipes leading to the filter so cut the ends and made new connections. The valve was faulty so replaced. Now the fuel is ...

1.9td AAZ cuts out now and again??
Hi, Wonder if someone can point me in the direction on this problem. My recently installed 1.9 Turbo Diesel AAZ engine, which took some time to get right, is now running great (hurray!!!) apart from this annoying habit of cutting out on the way to work in the mornings or on the way home at night. It...

Re: Flywheel teeth worn.
Hi thanks for reply. It was the cheap chinese starter motor worn pinion that caused the problem. Had it repaired with Bosch parts so now I hope it will last. As for the worn flywheel, it came off pretty easy after dropping the gear box.The ring gear came off with ease too, with a couple of hits with...

Flywheel teeth worn.
Hi, I have a T25 Westfalia 1990 LHD. It did have a 1600TD engine in, now it has a 1.9AAZ TD (which we don't know the age, but we believe it was taken out of a Golf) The engine was converted November last year by my father in law (the mechanic) and me. We bought it from a New Zealand bloke from Bounc...

Re: 1.9aaz cuts out now and again
Hi, I suppose I have got a bunch of keys with a key ring on. I will try with just the ignition key in.
Thanks Paul.

1.9aaz cuts out now and again
Hi folks, being running this reconditioned engine for about 3 months now (1.9 aaz td ) But it has been cutting out on me when stopping at junctions, traffic. The red battery and oil light come on seconds before so I get ready to pull over. It happens now and again. It starts up ok afterwards. Not be...

Re: Just installed 1.9 AAZ TD
Hi folks Being running the van now for about a month. My main problem is the right side (looking in the engine) engine bracket. The one I had with the engine was too short,so we extended to fit. But it cracked in half because it was made very poor. Engine dropped so my Green Flag was called. Lucky o...

Re: Just installed 1.9 AAZ TD
Hi Ringo
Yes its catching on the belt.
I had to chip away at the engine lid then mix some fibre glass, as the alternator just sits proud.
Other than that its running well. Just need to make a better plug where the oil filler pipe use to be attached.
Shame about that engine mount.

Just installed 1.9 AAZ TD
Hi folks I went for a test drive yesterday. I few questions if anyone can help. 1- The engine mount on the right side (as you are looking at the engine from the rear) The power steering pulley is in the way, catching. So we have taken a chunk out of the bar with a grinder. Its clear now, but catches...
