Re: Carb tuning / rolling road needed West Yorks area

Cheers all.

MOT is on Sat morning, so crossing everything.

I am thinking that if it is running ok a trip to Gassure might be beneficial?

Carb tuning / rolling road needed West Yorks area

I have just re-fitted my engine which I have rebuilt over the winter. (2.0 litre CU air-cooled - Automatic trans) Engine fires up and runs but it is idling really fast. If I time it as per book (5° atdc) the idle comes down but it runs really bad (flat, no pick up/power). It runs ok with the idle hi...

Re: Automatic gearbox leaking

One thing I wished I had done when I changed the ATF was measure how much came out when I drained it ! Its a good reference point of how much fresh ATF to put back in (assumes correct amount of ATF in there in first place tho!!!) Especially as checking the level is quite invovled and tricky to get r...

Re: Auto transmission fluid recomendations?

I used Dexron II ATF from GSF in mine, but it is an early air cooled so your WBX might be different As for the final drive, I used EP 90 Gear oil. Dont think it matters if its GL4 or GL5 as its only a final drive. The distinction between GL4 and GL5 is only an issue in manual boxes. If your changing...

Returns to normal idle after 30-45 secs Its not the accelerator cable cos ive stood round the back and made ...

Automatic: Engine races on start up after trans fluid change

1981 Aircooled Automatic Changed automatic trans fluid and final drive oil in prep for long journey to Devon in a couple of weeks Since doing this though, whenever the van has been stood for as little as 10 mins, the engine races like mad on starting up for about 30-45 secs. Really disconcerting can...
