Just to confirm alewing, my feed pipe also looks like yours. As others have said, the metal inserts work their way out over time - constant heating and cooling and vibration I guess. What year is yours? I'm just about to change the small hoses that connect into the plastic bleed rail on my 1990 DG. If I remember correctly they are 7mm ID x 2.5mm wall. I've just ordered a couple of metres from VAG so should have some spare if you need it.
