Re: DG Fuel hose replacement - with diagram!
Good diagram - would only add that on my DG there are hard lines incorporated into the expansion tank lines too. I have replace the flexible lines in the engine bay - these are 5.5mm as is the flexible from filter to feed hardline. Tank to filter is 7mm as you have marked it. The arrangement of hose...

Re: anti rollbar drop link.£45!!!!!gsf..f****n ell.....
Unfortunately, these vehicles 'aint Fords and parts prices mostly reflect it. Had my first dealings with GSF at weekend - for exhaust bits. Parts look to be ok and reasonable quality. Did make a nuisance of myself by ringing up three days on the trot to make sure bits were in though as its a 50 mile...

Re: vactan
Out of interest, I painted a test strip last July (2009) with Vactan and various paints and left it outside to see what happened. Hopefully photos have loaded and will show results Steel was an 1.2 mm offcut with very light surface rust. It was wire brushed and degreased. All paints and coatings wer...

Re: Coolant Top Up?
Hi JCL and OJ Sorry to go off topic, but - great vans! Thought I had a pretty good one until I saw what you two each have. Need to at least tidy up my side stripes looking at how good yours are. Can't believe you found one with with such a low mileage JCL. If I need to check original condition of an...

Re: Topics required to be put in the T25 Tech Wikipedia
Probably been covered before but this post might be ok to put in the fuel line dangers part of the wiki?

Have no idea how to get it posted - do you do that?

Re: Heating Question
Would back up the advice NOT to use one of these in a van. The risk of CO pisioning is too great. In case you dont think it would happen - two weeks ago in our village the owner of the local builders yard died from just this. He had been having problems with fly tipping going on during the night, so...

Got my 5.5mm hose from Volksbolts - see their Ebay shop. Think Brickwerks do it too. Pic of why you need to change them fuel pipes attached - they split from the inside out...

Re: Noisy lifters
Thanks to all who replied and put my mind at rest. Didn't get to drive my van for a week after I posted, but did a 10 mile drive to work and right on cue, the noisy lifter shut up at the 8 mile mark.
One more thing I've learned!

Re: Fuel lines
Have just made a start on replacing mine - see my post with photos. Would give you the direct link but not sure how to (?) Type in 'Replacing flexible petrol pipes' to search box and it should be there somewhere. Start with the ones in the engine bay as they are the biggest risk! Pipe sizes may be d...

Noisy lifters
Just started my van after a two week layup (1990 1.9 DG, 55k). Started first time, as always, but really loud metallic tapping coming from engine. Thought it might be hydraulic lifter that had drained down, although this has never happened before. Let it warm up for a few minutes, then increased rev...

Re: Fuel Tank vent connectors
This is probably the most permanent solution if you have access to a lathe and brazing equip. Lots of discussion on other fixes on this site too.

Re: How do i get to back of this seam(pic)
No easy way to say it - without taking the fridge out you wont get to the seam behind it. I can reach about 400mm of the seam via a cupboard: [/url]http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55398 But there's a limit to what you can do without removing the interior, which I haven't done yet...

Replacing flexible petrol pipes
This may have been covered before, but its probably worth repeating for new members as it is a worthwhile job that could save a breakdown or, worse, your bus or van going up in smoke. It's also a fairly easy job to do yourself, although if you are in any doubt, get a competent mate or garage to doub...

Re: Rust where you cant quite get to it
Thanks for the kind comments on my footwear. Those soles are actually red not pink! Went like this: Other half comes out with cup of tea - "For **** sake, what the **** are you **** doing now?" - my mumbled reply not appreciated (head was jammed in cupboard, after all) - so she goes and ge...

Re: Help...Blown hose!!! SORTED NOW
Too late if you are sorted, but on my late model DG this hose is 251 121 130B. Just bought one from my local VW main dealer - £9 +VAT.
I have found them really helpful for tracking down older parts.
