Re: Vr6 conversion
It's funny you should say that, I own an audi a4 with the 2.6 ABC motor in it, and would love to put one in my van but again I can't seem to find any definitive answers as regards fitting it, I.e which clutch /flywheel to use other than it's probably best to use an engine from an audi 80 for wiring ...

Re: Vr6 conversion
This is part of the reason why I was looking for some info on a vr6 conversion also if I used the 5 cylinder lump I would essentially be putting in a engine that is 6 years older than my van as opposed to a vr6 which would be 6 years newer than my van.

Re: Vr6 conversion
The motor I have is a 2.2 10v kv from a coupe quattro with the 5-3-2 manifold, as far as I am aware it has no ecu, as it's running k-jet injection system controlled by vacuums from the metering head.

Re: Vr6 conversion
Ok cheers, so I will definitely need some sort of adapter plate then? I'm not really concerned with fuel economy, I just want a nice torquey motor but something a bit more modern than the 5 cylinder audi engine but not so modern that I have to mess about with complex wiring , immobilisers and transp...

Simple question, has anyone done this who might be able to help me with some sort of direction as regards bellhousing, clutch and input shaft etc, my van is currently running a mk3 golf gti engine cranked over on a diesel bellhousing, mated to an aap gearbox. I was going to go down the 5 cylinder ro...

Re: Audi 2.6 v6
I've got a chance of a low mileage 2.2 engine with complete wiring loom etc, was thinking of giving it a bash, I done the 2e gti conversion a couple of years ago, was a piece of cake, now fancy a challenge, so the plan is to get the engine, stick it in my garage over the winter and give it a full re...

Audi 2.6 v6
Hi all, it's been a long time, but to be honest I've nearly always found the answers I need on this forum until now, I am wanting to put an Audi 2.6 v6 in the back of my van, you may ask why and the simple answer is because I want to. I love the smooth torqueyness of the 2.6 as I have a 1997 a4 esta...

noisy exhaust on 2e conversion
Hi all, i have recently put a mk3 golf gti 20. 2e engine in my van, i have hooked it up to the jx silencer, but its a bit noisy, as i use my van as a daily driver and on long journeys the constant moan gets on your nerves after a while, i tried ramming a db killer down the end of the box which toned...

Re: caravelle recessed sliding windows
How did you go about filling the holes made by drilling out the spot welds in the frame? Or did you do fresh spot welds and let the rubber cover the old holes? cheers

Re: caravelle recessed sliding windows
Ok, so if i look inside my panel van i should see the spot welds, right? I thought i would have to split the inner and outer panels of the recessed panel, did you find any difficulties? how long did it take? cheers.
