Ok so I am laying up my Syncro, its got an AGG, Mk3 Golf engine, and I dont know what antifreeze to use, guess I am a bit stupid for not remembering or making a note.. I have a few leftovers to choose from: Quantum Antifreeze Red, Long Life Comma X Stream G48 Comma X Stream G30 My guess is the conce...

Lithium Leisure Battery
As I have two underseat leisure batteries, both dead, and its the second time I have killed them.. My guess is its lack of use, with a slow drain. I am wondering about replacing with Lithium. My reasoning is that they will not get killed by the discharge. Now theres bound to be other problems involv...

Re: Anyone used their OEM jack successfully?
Glad you were lucky to have not got the wheel off. I've not managed to get my handbrake working well, despite several experts working on it and all new parts, so that doesnt help, chocking the van is imperative. With my jack are good blocks of wood to rest it on. It is however, a last resort, using ...

Re: Source of inner "SA" style headlights/spots
Well procrastinator or what, finally got round to it. they needed a sanding and silver tape, easy enough. Had ordered the tape how many years ago.. Anyhow a little tip for anyone following these instructions, when I was taping I left the rim bare, where I was going to glue the glass back to the meta...

Re: Heating
No harm in fitting a thermostatic heater too,
wether gas powered or possibly petrol as you like.
I love coming to an already warm van sometimes.
It is a joy for when out "camping" in the van too,
even on "chilly" summers evenings!

Re: LED Headlight options
Looks like sticking to the Old H4 lights will do me then,
deleting my inner smaller ones, see ad in classifieds.
They not too bad with the loom upgrade and Nightbreakers.
Just need a standard grille, swap for an SA one anyone?

LED Headlight options
No doubt there are various sellers and styles to choose from, but could we share some wisdom and experience here. I am open minded about wether to choose LED or not.. the reason for looking was at first to find some inner lights, as my grille is the SA twin round, with smaller ones rusted, so with t...

Re: Alternatives to 2.0l Aircooled CU engine
Well yes, what kind of thing are you looking for? theres going to be a whole lot of work adapting a water-cooled motor into your van, more sensible to keep to what you have basically. Unless you know someone who wants to do a conversion and has the experience, but then you wouldnt be asking, so that...

Home made tools for undoing the rear wheel bearing nut (and tightening)
Rear wheel bearing replacement again I had done this job before but did get stuck, and had to take it to get the nut loosened. I have an inch socket set and bar but too bendy. It would be great to make up a useful tool for the future, this might include a "wheel clamp" to bolt to the wheel...
