Re: Banded Steels

Re: Alloy Wheel Refurbishment
just think to yourself rob, roughly how long it would take to strip(bead last, dipp if powdered) then clean (degrease/ tack off etc) pre heat, then powder , quality check, bubble wrap or just cover up,all this after you've paid to have tyres removed, then when you've come up with a time, truthfully ...

Re: are pug 1.9 td's hard to fit?
if you fancy a pug, have a word with 'billy739' or 'famous phil' they seem more than pleased with their's, I think billy's mite even be the 2.1 multivalve, tho not sure. I run a 1.9tdi from a 406 in my velle and it suits me fine, tis good on fuel and has more of an appetite for revs than the vw1.9s ...

Re: pergot 205
hey there nicko, my velle was a 1.9 petrol velle, before we fitted first a 205 diesel and now a 1.9 intercooled 406 motor, it's not straight forward, but at the time I thought it worthwhile.we made a bellhousing adapter modded the flywheel to keep the dub clutch and did some wiring, modded the engine...

Re: Vinyl wrap that van?!
my guess is there probably isn't much difference in cost between a pait job and a wrap, I think wrapping is just easier if you are wanting a complex design, ie you can transfer a photo or weird pattern via computer onto the wrap before it is applied (in leymens terms) a wrap could be a couple o gran...

Re: 15" T4 steel wheels
aarrgh! boring out centres of t4 steelies, nah, no thankyou, too risky, just get 15 or 16" mercs and be done with it, no centre boring needed, offset suitable, pcd good, price- cheeeap used

Re: How much to lower 40mm?
WEHEY.. :D am right for a change.. yes the ML and also IMHO those big amg style merc rims seem to suit the t3, plus they're usually cheaper than some of the new less robust copies...we look after a couple of ML's at work and have never seen any alloys with problems, unlike the audi style which I've ...

Re: How much to lower 40mm?
not 100% sure but I don't think you'll get a real nice offset with the EMPI's?(tho I cud be wrong, I am usually :( ) Mercs do seem a very reasonable alternative and are usually fitted to cars weighing almost as much as a bus. I have 16" merc steels on mine(just cos I like the retro stylee) but ...
