Re: 1.8 20v Turbo in my Syncro - Pictures

Thanks!

Inlet is part 1.8T from the Passat donor, part 16v and part Cupra I believe. Lots of welding!

1.8 20v Turbo in my Syncro - Pictures

Hi All Thought you might be interested to see these. It's 95% finished. Up and running perfectly now, just some cosmetic tidying up to do, plus adjusting the exposed oil pipe for more clearance and yet to make new bash guards. http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh627/Youde4/engine-062_zpsokwvudr8.j...

Re: Engine choice?

I've just finished the 1.8 20V Turbo in my Syncro. Lent over at 50 degrees so the engine lid is still standard. It's transformed the drivability and even under boost it feels like more torque and power are available. More mpg too, but I couldn't put a figure on it yet as I'm mostly thrashing it ever...

Best clutch for 2.1 / 1.8T

Hi all I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on what's the best clutch available for a 2.1 Syncro. I'm putting a 1.8T in there using a diesel bell and installing at 50 degrees. I'm planning to get it remapped once complete so it will be running up to 200bhp, therefore needing something a bit mor...

1.8T part check before this wknds commitment

Hello all I'm planning a 50 degree 1.8T swap in my 2.1MV Syncro. I've found a '98 Passat (AEB code) with low miles that I'll hopefully purchase this weekend. I'm also planning to buy this weekend, a diesel bellhousing, diesel engine bars and a JX sump to bolt straight onto the donkey, and get me sta...

Re: Pas inconsistently

Thanks for the replies, will check out and see if I can find a solution. The problem does't seem to have gotten any worse and it doesnt look like i've lost any fluid yet so fingers crossed for a blocked filter!

Pas inconsistently

Afternoon all I've been experiencing some odd behavior from my power steering these last couple of days. It seems to feel inconsistent, it's still easy to turn but feels heavier, then lighter than usual, the steering doesn't seem to self correct as well as it should and I've almost been caught out a...
