so i'm driving around and i look at the patch of rust where my petrol cap sits and i notice something weird.... the petrol cap isn't sitting... or if it is its not sitting in the patch of rust where it should be... so i go to halfords to be told that they are out of stock... and i get diverted by ba...

If everything else is ok--waterlevel etc, it can be a faulty sensor-the black plastic thing with wires plugged into it screwed into coolant tank in engine compartment--get a new one from vw or gsf-- it may well be my water level - not checked in a while but it has gone empty before without flashing...

on the way to work today.... cleverly i ignored it... its above the engine temp thingy - over there on the right hand side of the dashboard thingy - you know the dial that tells you if you van is about to explode - but the needle is happily in the middle so what is this mysterious flashing red sign ...
