Re: top end speed of our 1.9 D 1Y campervan enquiry

Re: Cosworth 2.9litre in my Crewwy
i've been thinking about your dilema and thought i'd throw another idea into the stewpot. seeing as you've already got a ford adapter plate and the clutch and everything is working why not look into fitting a modern ford turbo diesel engine in there? i know it might mean it's turned into a bit of a ...

Re: 4.2 audi v8..... my next project for 2011
sounds totally plausable i was thinking of doing something simular. as i'm planning on keeping my van i was thinking along the route of making a universal mount welded into the back of the van so that i could change engines and running gear when newer affordable engines come along. the main problem ...

Re: help non electric air cooled interior heater heater ????
the heaters in your van usually get there heat from heat exchangers, which are tubes that go over the out side of your exhaust manifolds air is blown through them either by a mechanical fan fitted to the engine or a electrical fan in the engine bay, from there the warm air gets blown to the front of...

Re: Big Brakes
cyclone mike makes a very good point about brake disks heating up and brake fade due to that i'm not saying dont go for bigger vented disk multiple pot calipers braded lines etc..........if you can afford it but i think you should start with the 10" servo and go from there. I think the improvem...

Re: Big Brakes

Re: Dent Pulling Kits - are they any good
not nessesarly my girlfriends fiesta got dented by a vandal on the top corner of her wing i thought i might be able to pop it out from behind. i did pop it out but it was creased so i suggested she try one of those dent removal places i heard they use various different prising bars to gently manipul...

Re: so c'mon, is the AAZ conversion worth it?
since my last comment on here i have installed some gauges and found that my turbo wasnt actually giving any boost untill i reved the nuts off it. so after a bit of tweaking with the waste gate nuts i can now say that the aaz engine is definetley worth upgrading to. i've got the boost set to 10 psi ...

Re: alternative mirrors mod
i bought some turbo peep mirrors for mine, seen them on beetles before, thought they're nice and small and mount on the top of the door so neat tidy and mounted in close so no need to fold them in. just in case anyone else is thinking the same as me don't bother. they don't fit, the arms are to smal...

Re: alternative mirrors mod
whats the view from them like though.
as vans are tall most van mirrors are rectangular so you can see down the side of the whole van.
i would presume you have to move these mirrors around to be able to see the curb when parking

Re: Engine runs on after taking keys out!
well if it was running on carbon deposit build ups.
i'd start it up then switch it off and drive round on that.
should increasse your fuel economy by 99%
