Re: Oil buzzer of doom

I was up for placing an order for all the bits required, however, I'm still not clear as to which sensor is required for my '90 DJ. I've read the topics and BW info (much appreciated), however, I'm now stuck here... "Then from '88 model year to 1992 [H,J,K,L,M,N] there is a choice of either whi...

Re: Oil buzzer of doom

I think I'll use this opportunity to bling the dash and add an oil pressure gauge. I'll need a sender, gauge and some sort of adaptor to fit both the sender and pressure switch into the one oil port at the rear of the engine? Am I right to think the adaptor (Tee) will need to be M10x1 male and two M...

Thanks, I noticed there a few different switches available on BW site. Do you know what colour (pressure) is the rear swtich on the engine?

Oil buzzer of doom

Took my syncro for it's first big run in a long time. Half an hour in to the journey the oil warning light flashes and buzzes for a few seconds. Clutch in and cruised to a safe parking spot fearing the worst. Had a good look around and under the engine, not a drop of oil. Checked the dipstick, plent...

Suspect Hall Sensor

Had to call the fellas in orange the other night - engine kept cutting out when it got hot (no ignition). From what I've read this could be the hall sensor playing up when it gets warm. Or something else??? BW are out of stock and I'm keen to get one so that I'm mobile again. Any of you good folk kn...

Warm engine = splutter n die

Drove to work on Friday and she was spluttering a little bit (particularly) when there was little throttle. One my way home it started doing the same but then died and wouldn't start. By the time the patrol man arrived it started (engine cool), I got another 10 miles before it cut out on me again wh...

Re: Syncro fuel sender - replacement

Ive done 3 over the past few years, but Ive always bought a whole new unit and new seals and backing plate. then hopefully it is fit and forget. saying that, there were a dodgy batch of seals a few years ago which dissolved in petrol believe it or not which meant i put the old seals back on and use...

Syncro fuel sender - replacement

My petrol fuel sender is open circuit, probably to do with being stationary with no fuel for years  I found a link on the samba for rewinding the coild, but you can get a replacement for 55 green queens. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=512265&postdays=0&postorder=asc&...

Re: Syncro voyeur comes clean

Syncropendence sounds good, starting the weekend before camperjam? I'll stick that one in the shared google calendar so my missus will get advance notice (without me having to mention it) :pimp The DoKa is originally from Sweden (so I was told) so this is it's first time on UK roads, its got that qw...

Syncro voyeur comes clean

To the syncro congregation - I must confess... I have been lurking behind the forum 'curtains' for a number of years ever since I bought my T25 (2wd) but I was soon hooked on Syncros (and I partially blame the syncro film directors amongst you!) I soon found myself a project to tinker with at nights...
