Re: Ferry booked for France again

Hi, thank's for your suggestion, the area looks very nice. Our preference is the Atlantic coast this year, however there is always next summer! :D

Re: Ferry booked for France again

Yes, there will need to be some give and take in the choice of camp site. Can anyone suggest any camp site guides that they have found to be useful?
Thank you :D

Re: Ferry booked for France again

Thank you both for your replies. I am planning to use the D - C crossing in August, however struggling selecting a camp site - looking for a good family orientated site probably in the Aquitaine region close to a beach, not too commercialised and would appreciate club 80- 90 recommendations? :? Much...

Bastille day avoid France?

Hi all,

I'm looking to go France next year and have heard that the locals go on their hols on and around Bastille day / 14 July. Can anyone confirm which weeks to avoid? is it the week either side of the 14th or 2 weeks after? All advice appreciated!

Cheers

Electrical contacts look ok at the top of the water tank etc. Can anyone point me to the fuse responsible...

Re: Recommendations for West coast of France?

Hi Silky,

I'd appreciate any recommendations & advice :ok like I said not ventured out of UK, but fancy some sun etc.
Is the surfing any good at those beaches you BBQd on? Do the french have beach life guards like UK? Peace of mind with the children.

Thanks

Re: Recommendations for West coast of France?

Hi eveyone,
I'm also interested in doing simmilar next year. Must have good beaches, surf and hopefully sun, however crowded resorts do not apeal. I presume I would have to travel below Brittany? Never venture out of UK with the van before. Will read with interest your views and recommendations.

Re: Westy external lpg valve..what cooker??

Hi I run a simular set up with no real issues and have a length of hose that runs along the side and in front to he other side of the van. The only thing that I have noticed is when you first light the BBQ the flame can some times light and then go out a few seconds later. I put this down to a pocke...

Re: camp site for Vanfest

Hi Gavin,

I would say M25, M4 (to Swindon), A419, A417, M5, M50 averaging 60 MPH approximately 3.5 - 4hrs. But will depend on how free flowing the M25 and M4 and how many comfort stops on route. My estimate is assuming reasonably free flowing traffic with out a long break.
