Re: Westie joker question. pictures added!

Quick reply as i am now at work.

I have owned bays since the late 70s. This is my third, wife loves them too i did own an Aircooled t25 and quite liked it. I just thought it may be more ecomical and practicle to have that t25.

Re: Westie joker question. pictures added!

I don't think its particularly cheap at 4.5K though....unless you said ^^^ somewhere that you can negotiate down. I like your bay more :run it is a negotiable price but when i spoke to the actual owner on Friday about it he said ( i have not met him yet) he wanted closer to 5k i gulped and told him...

Re: Westie joker question. pictures added!

Just chatting to some other vw owners and they seem to think the panel conversion and 1600 engine are minus's "1588cc 78ps" would imply it started off life with a JX turbo diesel, so before writing it off due to the engine (I may be wrong, but you seem to be assuming 1600 non-turbo CS - b...

Re: Westie joker question. pictures added!

Just chatting to some other vw owners and they seem to think the panel conversion and 1600 engine are minus's - economy is no better than my 1600 bay and the rot or rot potential with the panel van is quite high ( although there is no sign of rot now tbh) so i am stuck between Sensible and practicle...

Re: Westie joker question. pictures added!

It's certainly a conversion of a panel, rather than starting from a window van, though. Is it a ex panel van- not a bus? Look at how the glass sits on the side panels. The seals sit proud of the surface, rather than flush, because there's no pressed recess for them. http://i863.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Westie joker question. pictures added!

The interior is very welll laid out i must confess i didn't realise Bilbo did t25 conversions especially rhd so i am guessing it is a custom conversion done in the uk by some uk confirm based on a uk van. Bilbo _are_ British, aren't they? It's certainly a conversion of a panel, rather than starting...

Re: Westie joker question. pictures added!

no...just that it didn't look like a jx. two types really...1.6 either td or n/a n/a is very frugal but many would say a bit of a bind on acceleration / hills. What does it look like to you? I have no knowledge of vw diesels - Aircooled yes defo but diesel wasserboxers none at all! They are sorting...

I don't know tbh - Are you saying turbo lump without turbo that has been dropped in later , because there is no turbo on it, i wasn't expecting turbo and never felt any turbo pull or kick in!

Re: Westie joker question. pictures added!

The van does look good it caught my eye. The roof looks like a Devon roof my old t25 had a similar one older shape but very similar in lots of other way, i could be wrong? The interior is very welll laid out i must confess i didn't realise Bilbo did t25 conversions especially rhd so i am guessing it...
