id reccomend jotun jotamastic epoxy primer , super tough and fine to be left outside until you top coat unlike alot of primers

depends how nice you want it

let it dry out thouroughly and wax it to protect it if youre happy how it looks

if your more fussy sand out any peel and dust nibs with 1500/2000 wet n dry then machine polish and wax

need to understand what products do what anything thats not brand new will need at least a gentle polish , this gently removes built up grime and gives the shine - something like autoglym super resin polish is good - if the paint is more than a bit tired you may need to repeat again or step up to so...

one thing that doesnt mix - fresh paint and bonnet bras/car covers , trapped moisture will sweat in there and cause blisters

if you must use one id suggest you only fit it when driving and leave it off when parked overnight to let the air on the paint

some places claim to be able to mix it to paint codes - think avenue paints does although not tried em

you can rustoleum onto the bare metal - but it will chip off easily

depends how far you want to go- ideal situation would be clean bare metal, epoxy primer , gravitex , then gloss paint to match the body

rusty van turned to pristine show standard could over £5000

never seen a car paint place that doesnt use scales ...its only diy stores that have a auto machine works fine if you can get some bothered to help you out ...BUT your van might be faded /painted in a off shade anyway , so you need someone that will take a look and offer some test cards to determine...

its not as hard as you might think ..take your time and think what youre doing

best do it when its hot out so the rubber is softer
