May I add one or two points to CK's advice and that is to use small containers, like cleaned out yoghurt tubs/Shipam's paste jars and have several small brushes to hand. It is extremely important not to dip the brushes you are using into say a 500ml or 1 litre reservoir because you will contaminate...

how about thickness of it...i know the site mentions how many microns but i cant measure that
just a normal coat scrubbed into the pits okay? or heave it on heavy as i can?

ive bought some vactan in the hopes of slowing up a nasty patch of rust

dont use a brillo pad...it will just scratch and not help you at all , use proper wet n dry
id suggest a little finer paper to finish with like 1500 or 2000, and a bit more buffing would improve it further

yes the method will still work...it might just take more coats to cover but id expect sky blue to cover pretty nice anyways

Looking great Llamapup! I painted ours on a main road in Hackney, with double decker buses hertling past and all sorts of unsavouries getting interested. I did most of my painting at 3/4am to beat the traffic and undesirables. It also gives the paint a full day in the sun too! haha thats keen ...ca...

is there a problem ..or is it just a garage has told you it leaking a bit lots and lots of engines leak a little bit, its mostly no problem at all , if it starts loosing alot and leaving puddles then its time to consider fixing it i wouldnt worry if its not spotting the driveway ..not many old vw ar...

Re Colour matching Rustoleum paints. I've been in touch with Redrose paints and asked if they can match to a VW paint code, they said no unless I can match my code to NCS, BS4800, BS381C or RAL? Does anyone know if this is possible to match Vw Ivory (1983 colour) L567 i think to one of those codes?...

you can get a base model clarke mig for £150 ish ...
a hour messing around and you can get the hang of things , its not too hard
