Front wheelarch

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew of another vehicle other than a T3 that I could cannibal a wheelarch or rather part of it from. The front part of mine is rotten but it hardly seems doing the entire wheelarch as I want to look respectable for summer and then tackle the full job next spring. Im thin...

Which Lifters?

Hi Can someone direct me to the section which explains whether or not you have solid lifters or oil filled, as I have a recon engine. There is a sticker on the air filter with a picture of hydraulic lifters on and a red X through it,though this seems a bit ambiguous because it has an arrow that seem...

Re: Valve settings

Thanks Kev. Thats made it clear apart from the engine rotaional direction. So ALL tappets are 1 1/2 turns? and obviously both inlet and exhaust can both be adjusted at TDC on each cylinder at the same time?
Eeeeeeeeee Im looking forward to getting away for a weekend :D

Valve settings

Hi Could anyone run me through the basics of valve settings for a water cooled 1.9? The Haynes manual is very vague . What I need to know is the Crankshaft rotation direction as on one website it suggests finding cylinder one and having the notch on the cranrankshaft pulley lined up with the crankca...

Re: Tappets

By the way the reason Im asking is that I fitted a spring loaded pushrod tube as I had a seal leaking. after I reassembled the rocker gear I found it was running very badly and the two plugs on the side I was working on were cold and wet and the opposite were dry and warm. All plugs ok and recently ...

Push rod seals

Hi Has anyone any experience regarding fitting a rocker pushrod tube seal with engine in situ? It says in the Haynes manual it can be done by using a telescopic tube ,available but quite expensive . Apparantly its out with the rockers ,slide the pushrod out and remove the old tube and replace with t...

Any one remember ?
