Morning, Has put a newer the later style cooling system onto a Dg block that had the old stye. By old style i mean thermostat housing at the front . My original engine is stripped and ready for spares ! i picked up a used block and bits of tinman on sunday night. The only differance seams to be the ...

Best place to get piston rings

After trying all the usual suspects in Bristol I am drawing a blank trying to get a set of piston rings for a 1.9 dg petrol any ideas ? Many thanks mrgreen

Just starting to feel at one with my engine it'd my first go at an overhaul got the block out just to strip it now woo hoo

should i get the head skimed on my 1.9dg ? milage 136,000 After a recently suffering from a horrible over heat in traffic i decided to investigate. I popped the rocker covers of to find a mass of green sludge !! So time to do the headgaskets. I am going to drop the engine and have a general overhaul...

Thanks to all for replying i think that i will take of the rocker to be sure of vlve postion. I am fairly sure i have followed all the other instructions !! post bak in an hour or two thanks again

Sorry for my hic up. The rotor is lined up with cyl1 and the tdc is on the pulley and lined up with the center of the crank case on the split !
