Try a toffee wheel / stripe removal wheel. Fits on a drill and removes adhesive, stickers or whatever without damaging paint. Go easy though and don't allow it to get too hot and burn the paint. Best to practice on something else first, but they do work well.

Running lean, mixture screw in or out?
Been searching the forum to get a definitive answer on whether mixture screw needs to go in or out to resolve weak mixture. There are posts either way. My 83 wbx DF with Solex 34PICT5 has been popping on overrun for last 3 years. Other jobs have got in the way, so not done anything about this since ...

Re: Best place to get starter motor
Just fitted new starter to my van. Been suffering from lazy cranking, especially when hot. Cables all looked reasonable and also changed bush, but didn't help. So after deciding the starter looked all of it's 29 years, got a new one from heritage. The difference is huge! Been for long warm run tonig...

Re: Toffe wheel
Yep, just been doing similar. Used heat gun & then panel wipe to remove the adhesive. Slow....was much easier with the old toffee wheel. Guess I'll continue with this method. Westfalia did a good job putting em on though, eh!

Toffe wheel
I have previously used a toffee wheel to remove joker stickers on one side of my van. Finally got around to trying the other side with a new toffee wheel and it is not working well. Previous wheel was soft and as long as used at low rpm, worked fine with no paint damage. New wheel from eBay is harde...

Re: How much paint/lacquer for a T25
Cellulose is still available depending on application. If it's for historic vehicle, then no probs, but our vans aren't quite there yet. So providing you're painting a trailer to match your bus, or a boat or ... but NOT your bus, then it can be supplied to you. From what I could work out last year, ...

Re: fuel tank filler pipe overflow/breather
Interested in how you succeed with this - I have to do this tank in/out too. Silly suggestion but have you smeared some (engine) oil or grease on the filler pipe end to help it into the grommet?? Good luck. jon Cheers Jon. I used vaseline and that worked well on the other pipes, this one's just too...

Yep, my thought too, but wanted to get another opinion before taking a hacksaw to that "can't be many of these around" part. Ta for the response, just need to get on with it now.

Re: fuel tank filler pipe overflow/breather
Just changed my (early) fuel tank on my westy. Got the crossover pipe connectors back in the top of the tank ok (new grommets) after fitting tank, but I cannot get the filler pipe overflow/breather pipe to go into its grommet. I've tried everything, but I just can't get enough leverage tp push it h...

vanfest - trader name in main hall?
hi, trying to remember the name of the trader in the main hall who was selling general camper/motorhome conversion bits (next to one of the ramps between levels) - electric hookups, hoses, water containers, electrical stuff and.....brown knock-on edging. I meant to go back and get some edging but co...

Re: Engine bay mysteries - coolant system related.
There should be an outlet underneath that bleed valve on the right of the pic (num 2). It was originally connected by a hose to the metal water pipe where your "new" home made bleed bolt is. Perhaps part of the plastic housing/pipe on yours bust, so they closed it with a bolt and the added...

Sealing Westy leccy & water inlets
After working on the side of my westy, need to refit the leccy & water inlets. Have new gaskets for both, but not convinced that the seal will be completely watertight with them just being screwed onto the side panel. Anyone any thoughts on using additional sealant to make sure no rain is going ...
