Hi did this ever get resolved? I have the same issue, its driving me mad, its nothing to do with choke or carb settings. Its giving max vac to dizzy advance unit all the time, and shouldnt, i have replaced carb gaskets to eradicate and vac leaks, thinking it could be part of my issue. but no differe...

oil funny you should say that ive been getting oil covering the turbo, and round the back, i asumed it was pulling it through the oil breather which connects close to inlet of turbo, so i have dissconected it, and fitted small breather filter instead where do i connect oil prssure switch too, think ...

but it well goes past the 20psi mark on my current one

ah well its bloody quick i know that much!

just scares me when i see needle fly past the 20 mark, as i dont know what its doing

i have another guage, but its in bar, whats psi to bar measure??

yeah its a proper boost guage
came out of old 220 turbo

it is a k14

i have seen people on gtd talkin of silly boost pressures!
do you think i hould try a different boost guage??

i wound it right down and it only boosted to around 7, wound back up, and went off guage, so im sure guage is working!!

right so ive been fiddling again the engine is still in my golf so far, as i,m still getting the few parts together, and waiting till i have time to do the swap a while ago i removed the egr valve, and pipewirk from inlet to zaust manifold i wasnt sure what to do with the air pipes, so just blocked ...

whats best combo to use with bits you have, is 1z on mechanical better??

i have an aaz in a golf im thinking of useing, just trying to find out the best way to set up before i fit it!!

funnily enough, andy simpson dropped off a jx manifold for me the other day, i got off ebay,
ill give him a try as he lives only a few miles down the rd from me now!

my car will rev to 5500 but backs off a bit

ok ill keep it simple then stop thinking too much and just go bigger turbo fat 2.5" zaust cooler and thats about as much as practicalaly possible can be done you think?? i have boost pin sorted what turbo are you running?? have you or anyone took a lateer aaz pump apart to lock out the springs ...
