Mercedes front hub nuts.
Has anyone fitted Mercedes front hub nuts part number A1163340372 as a replacement for the VW peened ones . If so are they a direct replacement or is there anything else you need to do .Thanks Simon C.

Fairly Straight forward take off the alternator take off three hoses, water everywhere but it wont complementary drain the system. Think there is four 13mm bolts on the top and a 10mm through the cam cover. Bit of a faff to get the pump out if you have PAS but it does come out with the pulley with a...

Water pump is fairly easy. off with the alternator off with the three hoses at the back 3 or 4 13mm bolts on top and one that goes through cam cover, bit fiddly to get pump out especially with power steering. I had this problem turned out to be a warped thermostat housing. Leave it over night then with a torch look down the back of the water pump (the other end to the pulley) There is a little ridge in the crankcase casting this may have some water in it if so its coming from plastic thermo cover. The only thing left is the flexy hoses have perished on the inside and are not letting the fluid return correctly but this would happen when cold as well .
