Any decent motor factors.
I'll try brickwerks but GSF and Eurocarparts only sell the belt that goes to the 1988 model.
Does anyone know the lenth of the belt or part number for the 1989 and 1990 model year 1.6Td engine?
THanks

Looking for 1990 1.6TD Waterpump Belt
Hi There I have a 1990 1.6TD Westy Camper. The Waterpump belt snapped on me and I have had to resort to putting a belt on it that is slightly too long as I can't find anywhere that sells the right part. As a result I get some belt screeching on startup and on wet days. Does anyone know where I can g...

Re: T25 POP TOP ROOF MOLD ISSUE.
I think that Milton is the same or very similar product to what we call mould and mildew remover over here. Just dilute it down a tad, spray it on and as someone else has just said, in about 10 minutes the mould just disappears. Milton is a chemical used for sterilising baby bottles. It smells a li...

Re: T25 POP TOP ROOF MOLD ISSUE.
I have a westy poptop with a flock roof lining. Different than carpet I know, but it was mouldy none the less. You cant scrub these as the flock will just come off. It was really mouldy though. I used a ratio of 1 part liquid milton to 10 parts water in a spray bottle. I saturated the roof lining an...

Re: removing interiors of Westfalia to access wiring
That's a shame you haven't been able to resolve the electrical issues. I can't comment on the electrical problem you have identified, but I've got a Westy with the same interior as yours. I have not had to disassymble as much if the interior as you have suggested but I have removed the fridge and so...

Re: Rapid overheating
I'm not familiar with your specific engine but it does sound like you are getting too much pressure in your water. As the posts above suggest this is most likely being preassuried by the action of the cylinders as a result of a perished head gasket or a crack in the block. The speed at which you des...

Re: Engine bay seal
Wow! £101 is massively expensive! I thought that was a typo until I checked JK myself. The description indicates that the seal is designed to prevent exhaust gasses getting into the cabin. Surely the seal on my JX does the same thing. What's the diference?

mr vw seems to think they should be there.who are we to argue.can you imagine the shi*e that might get sucked into the turbo without that cover. Rob, my turbo is a sealed unit. Its not sucking in anything with or without this panel. This thing is just a bit sheet metal, its not part of the turbo. S...

How important are these parts?
Hello All I've taken the bottom engine cover and a couple of other bits of tinware off my T25 to gain better access to the bottom of the engine to resolve some oil leaks. I've sorted these problems out now, but I can't decide if I should put the tinware back on or not. Are the bits in the picture be...

Re: 240 volt fridge in camper
i could be wrong but a house hold fridge has gas in them and think they need to stood for 24 hours after transportation to let the gas settle plus would it not be a bit heavy in a van? as i say i could be wrong I took my Dometic fridge out of my Westy to give it a good clean and to clean the gas or...

Re: 1.6TD Oil Consumption
Thanks for that. I did get a new turbo when I replaced the engine, along with the clutch and timing chain. I've had a friend drive behind me and he says that there is a very slight puff of smoke on full load up a steep hill in 1st and 2nd gear, but is otherwise running clean. The engine is running r...
