Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Cheers CovKid :D to be honest though it looks alot better in the photo. I managed to get the mix perfect for the roof, however, on one of the sides the paint is way too thick, so will need quite a bit of work to flat back. Will look into those chrome strips, although I don't want it too 'bling'. I'm...

Re: Is black paint really that bad for showing imperfections?
Yeah, was slightly worried about the 'bling' look, I'm thinking about loosing the tints when I replace the window rubbers which should make a difference.

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
I've been meaning to do this for ages. Thanks to all the great advice on here I went ahead and rollered the bus, so far, I've only managed 1 coat as I was running out of time for our camping holiday and had to make a start on the interior, anyway I'm planning on flatting back and doing 2 others, pos...

Re: Is black paint really that bad for showing imperfections?
I rollered mine in black a couple of months ago - I've only completed 1 coat so far, I'm still planning on flatting back and doing 2 others but was running out of time before my holiday so had to get the interior sorted. It does show up imperfections on a close inspection, but anything from about a ...

Re: Just Kampers Roof rack
Cheers Rob
yeah I should have really, the website doesn't say they won't though, whereas for the split camper ones they do say they won't fit iyswim.
"the roof and gutters are the same down the length of the van" I thought so, shouldn't be a problem then

Just Kampers Roof rack
Hi guys, I've not been able to get a full length roof rack for my bus, so I've just brought 2 of the Just Kampers ones. On the JK site is doesn't say anything about having them at the front or the back, however the instructions say back/rear only. I've seen one fitted to a Doka, but I'm now a bit wo...

Re: 1st Camping trip with a baby
Hey Llamapup, thanks for the great advice, we'll have a couple of storage boxes for toys and food, never thought about using that as a bath and to wash up - will be doing that :D , will also get some waterproofs. She's got a load of those grow-bags, so with those and some warm clothes she should be ...

Re: 1st Camping trip with a baby
Hey Ringo, thats great. I'll check out our monitors, although I don't think they monitor the temperature, so may look into getting one of those. Hopefully the bus will be Ok, I insulated it a while back using Celotex and Thermowrap + a new vapour barrier and new board :D . Going to start her on the ...

Re: 1st Camping trip with a baby
Cheers guys :D really looking forward to it, might try her on the cold milk, that'd solve my main concern as she really only winges when hungry. As for no booze, can't really guarantee that  , may take the blow-up matress and kip in the awning :o , no-one will be kicking my bus, their foot ...

1st Camping trip with a baby
Hi guys, just sounding out some advice really. We're off around Cornwall in June and taking Holly, my 10 month old daughter. We're putting a list together of things we need etc, but does anyone have any additional advice. She'll be sleeping between us (full width R&R), we'll be in sleeping bags ...

Re: Service & Parts in London
I took my bus to South London VW to have the engine replaced, after an 18 month nightmare, i went up from Plymouth to collect it, only for it to have the original engine still in and for it not to start. Shame as Steve seemed a nice chap, but I definitely wouldn't recommend the place. Got home, took...

Bus Weight
Probably a silly question, but would a 2 Ton trolley jack and 2 3 Ton axel stands be Ok for my bus, I've spotted some on ebay for £30. I know the weight of busses will vary, mines been stripped inside and will only contain a R&R bed and maybe a buddy seat. Would it be worth going for a 3 ton jac...
