1.6 DIESEL CABLES... for my westy! LHD
I am putting my Beloved westy diesel for sale on fleabay next week, but beforehand I want to change the throttle and speedo cables. Will RHD cables fit my left hooker? Or are they different in some way? Any thoughts...ps, its a 1982 1.6.

you should see my 20m whip or the 7 foot firestik on the van. it looks like a dodgem , but that firestik really does work well, cant believe they stopped making them?

this rings a bell. i got a new relay (still the same). in the end i had to run a new high amperage wire down to the leisure battery completely bypassing the one already fitted by vw. it now works as it should. vw ran a wire all the way to the front of the van? to a connector then back to the leisure...

yes, that looks very similar to a centrifugal linear vacuum distribution sender, with an inverted co-efficient expansansion regulator bias pipe

swap the engine for a 1.9d out of a golf etc. . .who thought it was a good idea to put a 1.6 engine into a 2tonne vehicle anyway~?

cant for the life of me find where the burned wire went? i had a mess with it earlier, now the dash light is out and its showing 14.1v on tickover. the relay in the front is also working now :shock: i am baffled. ive wired a digital volt meter into the dash via a switch, so i cant keep an eye on it ...

ITS A DIESEL, i noticed the charge light came on this morning, so i took a look and noticed a burned out wire coming from the little plug connector on the alternator (its the on on the left). i took my multimeter out and there is no charge coming from the big wire going to the + of the battery eithe...
