Re: Power Steering Heavy
Mine gets like that when the belt is a bit loose. Any squealing from the aux belt when running? Might just need a tighten/adjust?

Re: Leisure Battery
Got the Bosch S5 100. These are more modern battery technology, normally used for stop/start engines. So can keep delivering the power when depleted, great for starting the eber heater. I have them for both starter and leisure. Loads of power and they also have a five year warranty. They are more ex...

Headlight buzzer relay
I had the same. Bought a buzzer relay and just swapped them over. Buzzer worked fine. Then came MOT and I realised I had no fog lights!! In the end swapped back and went down motor factors and bought one of the buzzer kits, ( basically a buzzer with two wires off it) two wires wrapped round blades o...

Re: Westy LPG tank aux hookup question
Brickwerks sell the nozzle that fits onto your gas tank. Cut the tap off that pipe from your cooker, and jubilee clip the nozzle on. Tank already has the tap to isolate, do you really need a second one, straight after?

Re: No joy replacing reversing light switch - what next?
Oldiebut goodie... Genius My reverse lights have never really worked for the 6 years I have had my van. Replaced the switch, cleaned up contacts every where. Then they would seem ok but then fail again. Just saw this post, stuck my arm through the wheel arch, contacts off, switch out, removed washer...

Re: Water loss-where?
Mine was a crack in the main coolant tank. Just enough for it to steam off at pressure. Searched for a year until it got big enough to notice a bit of coolant on underside of tank.
Replaced and levels holding at present.

No key for fresh water filler cap
Can you just undo the three screws and disconnect the whole assembly without taking off cap?
Then replace with one of these?

What battery for 1.6td jx?
Had a little check on my charging rate as Martin suggested and I am only putting in 13.8v, from my alternator. So I have got a 14.5v regulator bought and on its way to me. Hopefully that will look after my batteries a bit better. I now have a Bosch S5 as my leisure battery too. Thanks for the advise...

Westfalia Battery Charging
When I replaced mine I put a 25a toggle switch to change between leisure and starter. Connect the POSITIVE 12V output from the charger to the centre terminal on the switch, then the original red/black wire to one side of the switch, and the red/yellow wire to the other side of the switch. When the m...

Re: What battery for 1.6td jx?
My BBB was changed to a more modern Sterling 20a charger a few years ago so no worries about my batteries as they are being looked after when hooked up and given a four stage charging curve.

Re: What battery for 1.6td jx?
It was the 5yr warranty that did it for me. If your buying a battery for less than £50 I would expect that it's life is not going to be that great. But you might get lucky. But it could also be a false economy if you have to replace it 3yrs down the line and the annoyance of having a flat battery as...

Yeah I know. I waited for years to get hold of the sherpas . And paid a lot for it. My trimmed plates did not fowl my f45s.

Re: Westfalia Pop Top Roof Rack compatible with a Fiamma awning?

The sherpas translift

My plates that where on previously, cut down so no longer sit on gutter. Still well solid on roof with four bolts and big washers.
