Question did you have the cylinder head skimmed when you replaced the head gasket for the GSF three notch/hole one?.Not trying to confuse matters or no it all but Cylinder head reconditioners when a head is skimmed for safety replace with three notch/hole in case of valve interference.Or was it a c...

New head gasket going in today :ok

Ringo thanks for the offer, tbh i wouldn't know what to do with it :rofl

Jed let me know how it goes with the tuning as thats the route i'm going to go down once ive made sure the head gasket is my problem...

will post later to let you know how i get on :ok

well i'll be buggered, looked in the garage in a rubbish bag that i thought i'd dumped and low and behold the old gasket, with a single hole/notch, and the new one, well that has 3... so i take it thats my problem?

When you changed the head gasket did you replace it with the same notches or diffrent to the blown one?. I went to gsf and asked for a head gasket for an aaz, and fitted what they gave me. I would check timing again. When you say checked marks , did you also mark pump in orientation to mounting bracket if you took pump off to do it? Might be as simple as pump timing. If you left pump on to check timing , paying particualr attention to pump pulley. Even with a really good locking pin ...

Right im probably missing it so i've got to ask the question, i'm changing the timing belt on my AAZ, i've taken the 4 bolts off the vbelt pully and i now have to deal with the groved pully which i thought fixed with the same 4 bolts? however it won't budge, there is a bolt in the middle which i tho...

what if the plate instead of 6 holes have 2 slots the same width as said plug holes, would that not increase the airflow and drainage? not sure on the strength tho :?
