1y service manual/ diagrams
Hi
I have checked wiki and the tech forum, but nothing showing.
Looking to diagnose an oil leak plus look at timing , so does anyone have a copy of a service manual or an exploded diagram to at least get right parts
I know there's a few modles that use the 1 y. Mk 3 golf, caddy etc
Thanks

Re: Tailgate, early and late differences
Cheers for the info, looks like I've managed to find a dud one, as the fit is atrocious.

Tailgate, early and late differences
Ok, a bit of a longshot. Does anybody know if anything changed on the tailgate when it got updated in 1985. I know about the lock hole size, was wondering if the shape was altered at all?

Re: early diesel glow plug wiring
finally tracked it all down, theres no sensor for the glow plugs (no sensor on top hose flange) , blue white wire has been linked to the oil pressure sensor on oil filter housing, so glow plug light stays on until engine is started.
At least that's the way it looks.

Re: early diesel glow plug wiring

Still surprised that sensor doe...

Re: stereos that fit
Thanks for all the replys, went for the phillips ce153dr from halfords, only 3 1/2 inch deph. no cd but as h-g said pretty good sound for £69 (cheaper from other sources but i needed it quick). Ipod connection works well, not had chance to try blue tooth yet. Found a few others but looking at a lot ...

stereos that fit
Hi
tried searching for previous results but no joy
My current stereo sticks out of the dash by about 10mm because it hits the blower unit in the dash,
anybody found shorter head units, trying the mechless routebut for some reason most seem the same size as units with cd players.
thanks

Re: CR to 1Y conversion but need starter motor
try brickwerks, the motor needed is for the cs engine not the 1y, made that mistake and ended up stranded in anglessey whilst waiting for correct part.

Re: what is the leisure battery supposed to run
its called a mistral conversion,
no one seems to have heard of it, van was imported from poland I think.
it does seem to be a professional conversion.
up till now I know very little about electrics, guess its time to start learning.
Thanks again for the info
