Re: Heater Blower....

All of the wires to the blower motor from the switch go to the resistor inside the heater case with the exception of the full speed wire. I had instance where blower motor would only run at full speed because the resistor was physically broken and not making a circuit in the lower two fan speed posi...

Re: high pitch whining noise

Can be something inside the tyre. Many years ago my brother had a high pitch whine (in his Austin 1300 - that gives an idea of how long ago!)and it turned out to be a bit of rubber that got into the tyre and was whizzing around and causing the whine as it run over the ribs of the inner part of the t...

That adjuster bar is the wrong way round!
You need the slotted end at the alternator and the bolt hole attached to the block.

Re: brakes after van moved for first time in 6 months

You can either take vehicle to an area where it is safe and do some fairly heavy draking to clear rust off brake surfaces or take off rear drums and clean rust off with sand paper or emery paper, replace and readjust shoes. Clean front brake discs with same but unless you have lost the brake shield,...

Re: Bulkhead Fridge?

Use a compressor fridge. Runs off 12V leisure so can be used when not hooked up (will run for about 3 days on a leisure battery) and will run of leisure battery when hooked up and battery charged by the battery charger on the 240V hook up circuit. Does not require venting for either gas exhaust or c...

Re: were can i get

Get some high intensity micro LEDs (from Halfords - called LED prism micro LEDs), they come with the necessary resistor. Cut the wires short and solder them into old panel light buld holders. Replace existing bulb holders with these LEDs. Job done. The only thing is that if they do not light, the bu...

Re: Heater .....

Took the heater casing apart on my '88 1.9 petrol. The welding can be cut by running a sharp knife around the joint, keeping a steady, twisting, pressure with a broad bladed screwdriver at the same time. Keep going round until, eventually it will come apart. Replaced motor with one from my spares ve...

Re: Protective paint for hot bits?

Type VHT into Google.
You will get paints such as supplied by Sperex that will take temperatures up to 1000 degrees C depending on colour.
They usually need to be heated up to cure them before they are full effective - run the engine to get the exhaust hot.
