Re: Newbie, help, engine trouble..
if you check that in line fuel filter and it has water in the fuel-clear bubbles in the fuel, then you best check the rubber neck of the fuel filler just inside of fuel cap.any splits or decay on this lets water in = crap or non run. best of luck. all I can say is that if the van is a keeper if that...

Re: EliteVw
thanks toby t25 for posting this. I think you have been quite restrained in your comments about elite and have also done well to say the engine is running sweetly, or at least to report what your garage said. a lot of people wondering where to go with their hard earned cash to get replacement engine...

Re: Westy Sliding window/caravelle
interested in this result. i think if you are talking about sliding door and opposite side then they are different lengths. am guessing that this then makes it relevant if windows are for a rhd or lhd van and would need to be specific. hope your window fits !

lambda/oxygen sensor testing?
can these be tested by any reasonable garage? my van-1987 2.1 mv, petrol/lpg seems to run and idle perfectly with the sensor disconnected but will barely run with it connected.i have replaced sensor twice, first time with cheapo from local factors and second time with pukka from reputable dealer. it...

Re: starter motor to solenoid braided strap broken

starter motor to solenoid braided strap broken
well more like rotted out. this is the small braided wire that is secured to solenoid rear below battery conn.it then enters starter motor through a rubber grommet. i have managed to replace it but to be honest its a bit of a bodge as it seems to be a non service item. my question is what does it do...
