over heating

temperature gauge lights up red after a couple of miles to say that the engine is overheating even though there is coolant in the expansion tank and the refill tank.could this problem also be linked to the auto transmission jamming in drive after a certain amount of miles if the coolant isn't coolin...

When my water cooled engine was over heating i took it to a local garage and they told me that it was due to some faulty switches but they didn't tell me which ones

When you press the button the gauge and the battery life should come on together but when i press the button then the gauge does tell me how much water is in the tank so i'm not sure what could be wrong

Automatic Trasmission

Engine running Perfect
Automatic Transmission changing perfect

After about 20 miles the Gear leaver jams in drive,you can get neutral but you can't get reverse or park,Gear leaver button won't push in, After about 4 minutes everything moves freely

Any Ideas?

We did put a new accelerator cable on,it was correctly adjusted and worked O.K then after only a few miles;it started over reving and sticking-if we adjust it any more it will roll backwards on a hill

When the vehicle is stationary the rod that connects to the carb,seems to go forward as though the weight of the arm is pushing the cable forward causing the over reving

sticking throttle on auto DG, help please

1987 VW caravelle transporter 2 litre Automatic

Has anyone out there got any ideas to solve our problem;our automatic VW caravelle has a 'sticking' throttle cable,causing excessive over reving-we replaced the cable thinking that was the problem but it is still sticking
