Re: Alloy wheel load rating
Another option might be just to drive it up to the weigh bridge when im done because theres not a lot in the van in fairness. It doesn't matter if the van is full or empty....the wheels and tyres need to be load rated for the vans maximum axle weights. Saying that though....there's plenty of people...

Re: Alloy wheel load rating
Even a fully loaded VW T25 Karmann Coachbuilt has a total axle weight LESS THAN 2500kgs It SHOULD have a GVW of no more than 2500kgs, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were lots of people who go over that without realising. Maybe but it really takes some doing to go over 2500kgs in a Gipsy.....t...

Re: Alloy wheel load rating
So the wheels need to be load rated to 650kgs or above and the tyres 93 and above....higher the better.

Re: Alloy wheel load rating
Yes, thats simple, but mines a conversion so im pretty sure i couldnt rely on the original axle weights? I reckon my mind is made up anyway, wait for the right wheels, id rather be 100% sure! Thanks again, much appreciated The axle weights I stated....1200 front & 1300 rear...are the maximum ax...

Re: Alloy wheel load rating
It's not complicated at all really.....just check the maximum axle weights for your van(there should be a plate on the drivers B pillar area) and divide the highest axle weight by 2.
That then gives you the MINIMUM load rating the tyres and wheels need to be to fit them safely.

Re: Alloy wheel load rating
Depends on the axle weights of your van....they're not all 1200kgs front and 1300kgs rear?

Re: Alloy wheel load rating
In my VW instruction manual the recommended tyre load rating is given as at least 97, i.e. 730kg per wheel. I'll leave it to you to decide whether it is sensible to use an alloy wheel with a max load that's at least 100kg less than the recommended tyre load rating, but it's not something I would co...

Re: 16" alloy advice
10mm spacers on the rear will be perfectly ok and not cause any issues at all with the sliding door.

Re: 16" alloy advice
I thought coz they was et37 somewhere near the standard offset they might fit without spacers. That's a very common mistake people make.....yes ET37 is near the standard steel wheel offset of ET39 but those steel wheels are only 5.5" wide, not 7" wide like in the case of your wheels. As a...

Re: 16" alloy advice
7" wide and ET37 will need 5mm spacers at the front to clear the upper suspension arms. Fit the same size to the rear to even things out....or 10mm to fill the arch out a bit more. Longer front bolts and longer rear studs....it's a good idea to fit a stud conversion kit to the front when using ...

Re: Merc wheels 190E
Mercs are 66mm centre bore so the centre bore won't be an issue. However the offset maybe. If it's lower than ET23 then they're not suitable. If it's higher than ET35 and they're wider than 7" spacers maybe required. Longer rear studs and front bolts will required no matter what. As for if they...

Oh....those wheels have the wrong offset(ET) for a T25.
