Re: Inner sill bung holes
Fantastic Ian! The very part... There are some battered ones available on eBay.de(not cheap), and brand new ones (just €1 each) on this German web shop: https://www.wagenteile.de/shop_de/899189251-r-stopfen-251899189.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Unfortunately, shippi...

Thanks tobydog, those might fit, not cheap though!
I take it that’s the factory tape, davidoft1? What year is your van?

Re: Inner sill bung holes
Thanks for all the suggestions. Might look at using bitumen-backed foil...
Looks like the factory sills with holes are on later vans, maybe? Definitely no holes on my 1982 sills...

Re: Inner sill bung holes
Thanks Swebby, nothing there. The holes are 36mm diameter, can’t even find generic bungs/blanking pieces to fit, let alone VW ones. Leaving them open seems an invitation for road muck and salt to get in, welding them up a bit over the top. If no one has any ideas (3D printing?) I’ll keep looking for...

Re: Inner sill bung holes
Thanks Adie, but I’m pretty sure the old sill is original — it had factory primer and factory spot welds on it.
Any idea where I can get hold of the bungs? Searched the internet to no avail...

Inner sill bung holes
Can anyone tell me if the large holes in the AH Schofield inner sill (not present in the original sill) are there for ventilation, or do I need to get hold of some bungs to close them off once I have Dynaxed the insides? Re: CU engine - heat exchanger support brackets
Got all excited there for a moment - unfortunately they don't appear to have the righthand side bracket (pn 071256304B), only the two lefthand ones (one for CV engines, the other for CU). If I've got this wrong, let me know!
Still haven't got round to fabricating it...

Re: 2.0L CU air cooled - intermittent backfire
Don't you hate it when someone says "I'll let you know what happens" and then doesn't? So, many apologies for not closing this thread earlier. Long story short, I replaced the Hall sender and, hey presto, problem solved! All the niggling hesitations, random backfires and occasional cutting...

Re: CU engine - heat exchanger support brackets
Thanks guys, all useful stuff. Looks like the left-hand bracket is on its way, so will let you know how I get on fabricating the right-hand one.

Re: CU engine - heat exchanger support brackets
And the first email arrives, from allcarpartsfast.co.uk - "I'm very sorry but due to a mistake in the manufacturer system that populates our site, we have listed the part you have purchased as available but it is currently out of stock. I'm not able to source it from any of our alternative sour...

Re: CU engine - heat exchanger support brackets
Brilliant! Many thanks bigherb.
Part 11 costs €57.50(!!!!) incl delivery from VW Classic, got it for €41 via online-teile.com
Part 19 is NLA, but found it for a mere £14.45 incl delivery on allcarpartsfast.co.uk
Orders completed, just waiting for the email to say they can't find the part!

CU engine - heat exchanger support brackets
I have had my van for nine years now, but it wasn't until I saw sarran1955's thread (titled Ooops...) that I realised it was missing two brackets that support the tail end of the heat exchangers near where they connect to the silencer. The brackets are visible in the 2nd and 3rd pics here http://arc...

Re: strange reading on battery
One more thing to check - is the battery in the multimeter OK?
I recently got 15v plus when checking starter battery, couldn't find anything wrong, checked the 9v battery in the multimeter, it was down at 8v, replaced it, starter battery was back to normal!

Re: 1981 T25 1900 Keeps breaking down. (still! Help)
My van had exactly the same symptoms as you, cutting out randomly, then either starting again soon after, or not starting and having to be towed, only to start first thing the next morning. Sometimes it would run for 200 miles no problem, then cut out, then start again, then cut out five minutes lat...
