Re: Rustoleum Colour Matching
fair point eatcustard. I assumed the charts would be pretty acurate, but guess they're not then. Reckon it'll take me ages to get round to doing the whole thing. i like the idea of doing a panel at a time, so spose i'll live with it being a bit patchy. Probably won't have finished the prep til next ...

Re: Rustoleum Colour Matching
Rob - just want to have some idea of what i'm getting before i order, and margin of error is too great from a monitor representation.

Re: Rustoleum Colour Matching
Yep - a litho printed chart will be a lot more acurate. I work in design - monitor calibration isn't good enough for this sort of thing. That's why you use pantone charts ;) Actually, I'm not fussed about a 100% match, but I'm not gonna order a tin of paint based on a colour from a monitor. The guy ...

Re: Rustoleum Colour Matching
Rustoleumdirect have forwarded me to the swatches on their website. I would have hoped that someone that specialises in coloured paint realises you can't get acurate paint colours on a monitor!

Rustoleum Colour Matching
I want to spruce up my van a bit, so planning on using Rustoleum + roller. The van has previously been sprayed in Ford Balliol Blue. I'm trying to find the closest rustoleum colour to this, though doesn't need to be absoloutely perfect match. Got sent a rustoleum chart, but it doesn't seem to have m...

Sorted!
You were totally right Mocki - dodgy spade connection. She's starting fine now.
Thanks again. This forum is great!

Re: starter motor electrics
great, thanks Mocki... i suspect you're right that it's the spade connection, but good to narrow it down a bit first. I'll give it another go then.

starter motor electrics
Hello. Had an issue with the van not starting the other week when we were away. When I turned the key i got a click from the starter motor, but nothing else. Had the AA out, who wiggled the wires on the starter motor and it started fine. Had the same issue since and a wiggle sorts it until today. Ha...

Re: oil type for diesel
Thanks. Not sure if there's a difference between turbo and non-turbo though. Just seen on brick yard that the CS, KY and JS all take 15W/40. Mine's also a non turbo, so guessing 15W/40 will be ok? Can anyone confirm this?

Re: gearbox - oh cr*p!
had a couple of quotes for the recon going from £460 to £590, and also had an offer of a tested non-recon box with probably 120,000 miles on it for £250. That's a big difference between the recon quotes, and not sure exactly what they do for that - bit of a mystery to me what goes on inside a gearbo...

Re: gearbox - oh cr*p!
Thanks for the offer Em. Will wait until i've got some quotes for a rebuild before making a decision. Does anyone know what's involved in swapping the box over? How much labour is it liable to involve, and does the engine need to come out too? If it's not too much labour, then i might be more inclin...
