Can anyone recommend a bodywork and paint specialist for our van?
Happy New Year. Been a long time since I last posted, so apologies for that, but back now and looking to reach out to the community. Been using our campervan (1989 early Bilbo panel van conversion) for a while now, since the last tranche of bodywork was carried out several years ago, but have been l...

Re: Changing Header Tank
All went well I'm pleased to report.
Only slight niggle was the top pipe resealing. I hadn't checked its condition prior to starting and managed to get it to seal in the end but I definitely need to get a new one.
Thanks again.

Thanks Gents.
Had thought about the risk of damaging the hoses, like the idea of tieing them up though and I might look to see if I can source a bung or two.

Changing Header Tank
I'm looking to change my header tank later on today (1.9 DG). Is there any schoolboy errors I can avoid? Plan so far is to: 1. Ensure all is cool. Remove cap. 2. Clamp top and bottom hoses. Prob uses mole grips with padding. 3. Siphon out coolant from old tank. 4. Unplug sender 5. Unfasten hoses fro...

Re: Trusted Garage Request - Stoke-on-Trent
no, thanks for just saying..
..it would be interesting to know what the issues were, but there will always be a happy/unhappy customer balance
I guess there's no substitute for going down and having a chat first..

Trusted Garage Request - Stoke-on-Trent
Hi, I need to get the tappets set on my 1989 WBX 2.1 (DG carb not DJ injection).
Can anyone in the Stoke-on-Trent area recommend a garage I can call?
Anywhere within 15 miles of ST11 would be good.
Thanks

DG to DJ - re-jetting the standard carb
Afternoon,
Going to take the plunge and replace my 1.9DG (1989, 4 speed, 65mph crusing speed) with a 2.1DJ unit.
To anybody who has done this, what size jets did you use when re-jetting the standard pierburg?
Going to fit a new clutch and spigot bush, any other hints?
cheers

Re: Replacement Alternator problems
that was going to be my next question.. ..am I going to notice much difference? I have 2 batteries, half decent sound system, a skytag and the usual smattering of lights. i find I sometimes have to top up either of the two batteries before we go away on holiday but I reckon thats down to lack of mil...

Re: Replacement Alternator problems
Hi, I'm resurrecting this thread as I would like to uprate my existing 45A alternator on my 1989 1.9DG to a 65A one. Using the part numbers kindly supplied by kevtherev 9see below). Will any of the 3 65A options fit or are there subtle differences? I think that the MX refers to one fitted to the TD ...
