volvo engine conversion

Have heard good reports on this conversion, and had a look round a local doka at the weekend with a 2.3 fitted, looks to be a tidy way to go with, reportadly a good spread of torque. Anybody had any experience of this set up, or know where to find an adapter plate please.I believe this is a favourit...

Re: Introducing my V8...

Asaharts, just checked the thread and see your back!, the van i mentioned in my previous post now sits on our drive, not sure what adapter is used, but looks quite a tidy cast aluminium part, that along with the overall condition of the van clinched the deal, as i had priced the parts from kennedys,...

Re: AUDI A4 2.6 V6 QUATTRO CONVERSION?

Thank for the reply dick, wise words, just kicking a few ideas around at the moment, long term project when funds allow!, have been told audi do a transaxle, anyone know if there was, or is, an audi v8 connected to there own transaxle, the idea of a one marque donor would seem apealing, plus the gea...

Re: AUDI A4 2.6 V6 QUATTRO CONVERSION?

Dickspanner, you mention a german doka with a mid mounted motor, where do you source the parts, tranaxle? I am thinking along these lines, was thinking rover v8 with a renault transaxle, but if all the parts can be sourced from one vehicle, sounds like the way to go

Re: GTi Exhaust photos attached

Might sound like a strange idea, but, as these motors and parts seem interchangeable, would a 1600 diesel exhaust manifold bolt on, then you get to swear about those bent metal clips to hang the donw pipe on with, , you would then have a simpler single down pipe to work with, just an idea.

Think i will take you up on your offer to come and have a chat and see what you have collected andy, am interested in the feedback from anyone who has done the swap and is happy with the results, any info gleaned now could save time later on. Are you doing the next splitterz meet?

Re: GTi Exhaust photos attached

have been mulling over a gti conversion, how do you rate it against the waterboxer, did you use an 1800 or 2 litre motor, are there any problems doing it, have heard you have to mod the fuel tank with a swirl pot, any comments apreciated.
