Fired up the Westy today . Passed MOT . So all good there. However seem to have developed a fault whilst laid up .... When I press the brakes ( especially noticeable on long braking stretches down hill ) the temp gauge falls , eventually to totally cold. Come back up when off brakes. Not checked if ...

As I recall you should strip everything from interior more or less back to the bulkhead . The loom as you have seen is a monster and is basically a loop. You need to strip all the relays from the box in passenger side of ( bay) and pass it all inside through the grommet hole. A partner in crime is b...

If you have the black textured bumpers then these are now sought after, likewise estate rear number plate surround. The front splitter will shift quick . Electric window mechs always go but are easily damaged.

if your wings are rust free ( very very doubtful ) and they are original German metal then they could make north of £40 each . I have found the best way to shift gear is a rolling Ebay add , encourage people to collect and then when they arrive talk to them about what's actually wrong / missing / br...

Much easier to remake and iron out some of the design issues that exist. Especially with the wardrobe. All simple panel construction , cnc these days but could be done readily without access to that sort of level of kit.

Excellent. I am chuffed that another unloved GTI was recycled. Not often they turn up on sensible miles with all the paperwork . Usually still on the road or tucked away by enthusiasts.
