Re: When is the best time to book a ferry

Yes - I pay the rest in June. Can cancel before then and only lose the deposit. If I recall correctly will get a refund (less deposit) up to 7 days before sailing - after then you get a voucher.

Re: When is the best time to book a ferry

I was just booking our return ferry for July/August (Portsmouth/St Malo) with Britanny Ferries online when I thought I would give the booking office a call to cheekily ask if they had any discount seeing as we sailed with them last year. They straight away gave me 10% off and completed the booking o...

Here's one for my fellow Autohomes Kamper owners.....

Take a look at that roof! Looks factory to me (look at the internal photo). http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/fiat-900e-pandora-abarth-campervan-motorhome-superare-/180718287565?pt=UK_Campers_Caravans_Motorhomes&hash=item2a13a63acd#ht_790wt_1139" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; E...

Awning figure of eight modification

Hi all, Just been searching for some awning info and noticed that a number of posts have referred to figure of eights not fitting over the gutter black trims. Solved it on mine by running a 4.5mm drill bit (attached to a running drill!) down the side to be attached to the van. If you are careful (pu...

We are heading off to here:

on the 10th for ten days.

Going to drag an '86 Dandy Dart tailertent to lose the kids in - got to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen (Google it...).

Re: Spares List

It would be useful to summarise both the spare parts to carry (and a few examples have been given in previous posts) and the actual contents of an essential tool kit. Bear in mind that by the time my brood have filled the van there will be no room for the complete back catalogue of Snap-on tools and...

Re: Spares List

Interesting post this one (we are off to France this summer - only for 10 days but still over the water....). Always advisable (and sensible) to understand, and take what is required to drive legally abroad (high res vests etc.) but frankly (and with the greatest respect Mr Hulley et al) not everyon...

Re: M6 Toll - avoid!

They got us in the Kamper last year - jobsworth said it was based upon the height of the van and no further discussions would change the "Commercial" toll charged. We used to use it in the car twice a year on the way to Cornwall. Never again!!

Re: wood effect laminate/vinyl for interior units SOLVED

Hi Samk,

Very nice job indeed!

What colour code did you go for (a link to it on the website would be good!).

Thanks,

James

Re: 1989 Autohomes Kamper colour code

Thanks Hightopfrog - my problem was that the van had obviously been resprayed previously a slightly lighter colour in various places so it was a choice of either matching into the new or old shades. Also - Lloydy thanks for your advice regarding the stripes - tried Autovan but no luck - guess its a ...

Thanks lloydy - I will try them as well (should have thought of then as they do the replacement roof - doh!) Again, cheers to you all! Now, who has a right hand knob for my Electrolux RM212................. https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=40073&p=308696#p308696" onclic...

Re: 1989 Autohomes Kamper colour code

Thanks everyone for the replies. As always the answer can be found on this forum. Had to colour match the previous resprays which were a shade lighter (obvious now the panels under the original untouched doors have been done). Hospital job should last another winter before hopefully respraying the w...

Re: 1989 Autohomes Kamper colour code

He is doing, but the van has had a number of panels resprayed in in a whiter shade previously - just wanted to use the actual colour for the work he is doing - close up it's a bit of a patchwork job all round! Going to get a complete respray eventually and would like to restore to the original colou...

Thanks Rob - already seen that - although that would possibly narrow it down to a couple of whites...... assuming I read it right.
