Re: heater blower woes!
cheers for the reply, i will check out what you have said, would the fan work so well when it does work if it was the brushes though? is there any other 'common' problems as this van seems to suffer with every common problem under the sun, i have checked the wiki but it doesnt say a lot about it. ch...

heater blower woes!
hi everyone, Ive had a problem with my vans heater blower since ive had it. Basically, it doesnt work all the time, its more often not working than does work. Ive changed the actual switch behind the little heater control panel as the old one seemed to have a lot of play in the little spindle (where...

so c'mon, is the AAZ conversion worth it?
hi all, right, ive recently bought a van and after mulling through the different information ive decided to go for the AAZ conversion, mainly because i HAD heard good things about it and how it makes the type 25 more useable, and because ive got a lot if not all parts to do the conversion easily (bu...

Re: What's this & how to remove it?
no worries. you can get proper sockets to undo these but i think they are quite expensive, one thing i will say though is, try and get the plug and wire through the whole on the end of a closed spanner rather than use the open end of the spanner because these are good at 'rounding' off, leaving you ...

Re: What's this & how to remove it?
it's a lamba sensor, god knows how to remove it,
i think you find the other end where it plugs into loom, undo it there, pull the wires down and then unscrew the sensor, make sure you dont lose the sealing washer when you take sensor off,

Re: best way to 'spruce' up and old engine (1.6td)
right then, just been out to the van, used cold start and waited for glow plug lights to go out, (which they hadnt after about 15 seconds so i started it anyway) it started on the button first go and only a little puff of smoke out the back (looked grey/black) no horrible misfiring like it normally ...

Re: best way to 'spruce' up and old engine (1.6td)
right ive had a think and i 'think' i have decided to do pretty much what t'onion said, i'm going to get an exhaust sorted, try and find someone in the west mids who can adjust the tappets for me because theyve probably never been done, and drive it whilst looking for an AAZ engine as i have most/al...

Re: best way to 'spruce' up and old engine (1.6td)
no, it never sinks to the floor, just feels a bit poor in actual stopping the bus, not really bad though, what i mean is the brakes arent really sharp, i think it is more than likely that its been standing a bit, another thing ive got on my list of stuff to do when engine problem sorted, strip down ...

Re: best way to 'spruce' up and old engine (1.6td)
could be that the oil pump is on its way out , dirty job but not a hard one , search LHD posts ,he did his a few months ago , could be a sensor playing up or wiring breaking down ... daft question are your brakes good ? hi, yeah the brakes are 'ok', not good......just ok. the van had been standing ...
