Cover cap for inspection hole on engine flange
T25 1.9 petrol 1987 - For the last 7 years I have had a laboratory test tube bung in the inspection hole on the top of the engine block flange (where it connects to the gearbox). The cap had disintegrated and I could never get hold of a replacement. The VW part number is 025 101 109 B. I did locate...

Re: Gearstick linkage
Thanks for the advice.
Cleaned out old grease from linkage in housing under spare wheel and sprayed with white grease from GSF. Now super smooth changing. Note - no need to touch 2 larger bolts on bottom of housing as they just hold the shift guides in place

Gearstick linkage
I get a click changing from first to second - sounds plasticy (1987 1.9 petrol 5 spd) The gear change is quite smooth and the click does not happen every time. It looks like it is relatively easy to access the gearstick linkage from under the van. Could anyone suggest which of the nylon components o...

water tank pump
I have stripped down the old Evenflow 600 this year for the last time. I think it's terminal and I am buying a new pump. The tank is under the floor, so a submersible would be tricky to fit. The old pump served the sink as well as a gas shower fitted in the back, which I have now removed, so the pum...

window felt channels / wind deflectors
I want to treat the van to new cab door window felt channels and lower scrapers. I see JK sell them. Are there any other suppliers, perhaps a bit cheaper ? How easy are they to fit ? I also thought of fitting wind/rain deflectors. Has anyone got any experience with them ? Do they increase wind noise...

Water vapour from exhaust
T25 1900 1987 water cooled When I start with choke I get water vapour and some water (condensate?) dripping out of the exhaust. Once the van is warm and running there is not water or smoke. The engine has done 50k and the van runs really well - I cannot see any emulsified oil around the fill cap (ha...

Re: HELP! IDLE SPEED TO HIGH ON 1.9 DG AND GOING ON HOLS 2MORROW
Mine seems to be doing the same. There is also a lot of water vapour from the exhaust when fast idling with the choke. Once the choke is turned off there is virtually no water vapour. Is this of any concern ?

Re: Non working temperature gauge
this might seem obvious, but you are sure you have removed the socket from the right plug, I spent two years trying to get my temperature gauge working and I was constantly testing the wrong plug in the thermostat housing, it is the one you cannot access from the engine bay, not the one on the left...

Surfy seat covers
Does anybody know where I could buy pull on surf style seat covers for T25. Current ones that came with the van are red with hibicus flowers but wearing through. Would like to find something similar.
thanks
