Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
I don't know if it's been mentioned before but, somewhere in all this mass of great info about rollering your van it mentions using old sealable food containers to keep the thinned paint and used roller in between putting on the coats. I thought it worth saying that you should avoid the plastic type...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Just something you should be aware of if repairing your van before painting... About three months ago I had some welding done including a repair to the footplate. The welder painted the edges of the weld with some kind of seam sealer (I don't know the make but it was black and rubberised - Tiger Sea...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
That RAL number is not NATO Green according to everything I read on t'internet (which I always believe of course :D ). It's Bronze Green (whatever the heck that it). I looked carefully into this when I chose my paint and the BS number I gave is considered the closest to the correct NATO Green which ...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
To Mozzer... There is no RAL number to match Nato Green. It's close but not right. The best colour code to use is BS381C 285 (the BS bit is the European colour standard and the colour code is the 285). This is the one I have used. Rustoleum suppliers can make it up using that code. I would suggest t...

Removing the door rubber for painting
Hi, I'm just at the last stage of preparing the doors for painting and was wondering what people have done about the strip of rubber that runs down the front of the door (called a wind deflector I think)? It is pressing against the edge of the door so will make painting without removal tricky howeve...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Hi all, I'm relatively new to the forum (although I have been lurking for some time) but have been following this thread with great interest. In fact I am currently in the process of prepping my van for a colour change from white to Nato Green. I've got all the kit including the paint and have been ...
