£20 includes solvent to clean it with, putty to help hold a shape while it's wet and a s/s M8 bolt to fix the starter to (not going to try drilling/tapping it!) ;-)

Re: Welding on a gearbox

I'm coming round to the idea of trying the epoxy - if it doesn't stick it cant make it much worse (apart from I'd have to grind it off before a 'proper' fix could be done). The starter works ok at the moment with just the 2 bolts, but I can see it going the same way the last one did - that siezed up...

Welding on a gearbox

Not a T25 question but for a T4 - not had much response on the T4 forums so thought I would ask the knowledable (and more active!) people here... Part of the housing for the starter motor has broken off the gearbox, where one of the 3 bolts that hold the starter on goes through. The casting is part ...

After a lot of faffing and getting let down with assistance, the roof is finally off! https://preview.ibb.co/jVtmZU/IMG_20181007_155417769_HDR.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/jBpFTp/IMG_20181007_155424814.jpg and a picture of the worst of the damage... https://preview.ibb.co/km5Tg9/IMG_20181007_155430868...

Went and fetched the new roof today!

On holiday next week but will be starting the next phase soon - deciding which bits to keep off the old roof and working out how to to fit the new one!

Re: Insert witty title here

Windscreen out today - not as hard as I thought it would be. The corners where it seals don't look too bad, mostly surface rust, so be good to sort them now, while the rest is in pieces. Top right, by the worst roof corner https://preview.ibb.co/icQr6K/IMG_20180805_102618634.jpg Top left: https://pr...

Re: Insert witty title here

It's been a while since I posted... progress has been slow due to domestic issues, the weather, holidays and laziness. But I have progress! The roof is now completely unpicked; I lifted it tonight and took a sneak peak at the horrors below - and on the whole it's not as bad as some I've seen. Behind...

Progress today - unpicked all the left side, the front over the windscreen and unzipped the right side ready for unpicking: https://preview.ibb.co/bC8jgT/IMG_20180525_165358718.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/i9dT88/IMG_20180525_172959772_LL.jpg After I've bent the retaining strip back it seems that the ...

Some progress tonight. Attacked it with the angle grinder, cutting down what looked like 'good' gutter revealed this:

No progress this week - in-laws house caught fire so we've been a bit preoccupied! No one hurt, but house wrecked.

Re: Insert witty title here

I did the cheese wire thing, used a bicycle brake cabl inner wire. Quite fat (compared to cheese wire) but has a rougher finish - useful for a sawing action, and still capable of cutting fibreglass if you’re not careful... That might work for the front where I can reach both sides at the same time,...

Re: Insert witty title here

Not heard of them. Found a few videos on YooToob and they look good - worth a try when I get to that stage.
