I have been recommended the BMC CDA air filter as seen here: http://bmcairfilters.com.au/images/medi ... %20sml.pdf. Is anyone running one of these?

Re: The United Nations JT3000 Caravelle
Will have to get shots of engine mounts up next time. Yes, it does sound pretty raunchy. I think the balancing pipe was installed to reign in the sound. My wife thinks it's too loud, but I like it just fine. Apparently this was a pretty popular conversion in SA in the 80s. JT Engineering did a very ...

Re: Anyone know much about JT3000 Caravelle's?
Had the UN bus up on the hoist yesterday. Took a few shots of the conversion for those that are interested. http://api.ning.com/files/U7zrQIyhKZO9isWBiNI8gQbvmFreL23wYxRPwzB6lhYPMwPuCIdtlfYAxGfpedjdmd*ZXMI2retUULCZa0qeoueOsLdroOWE/DSC04378.jpg http://api.ning.com/files/f-V2rms4cQX7y3zN6RQEp2Cs65JgYt...

Re: Anyone know much about JT3000 Caravelle's?
I've been cruising a bit, taken it to a show by the beach a few weeks ago. Needs a bit of a tune, but still goes way better than my 2.1 ever did. I,ve swapped over my South African wide grille and smoked blinkers now. The extra black really works. http://api.ning.com/files/MJARKWgJTi*P3SHnqgeQt85CCS...

Re: Lounge room comfort in a T3
The worst part about it is that I now have to sell it. I have impulsively just bought another T3 due to it being very unique. It's a South African ex United Nations bus with an original JT Engineering 3l V6 conversion. Even though I am super happy with the new purchase, I don't have the room or mone...

Re: Anyone know much about JT3000 Caravelle's?
I'm picking it up on Friday evening so I'll be able to post a few more pics of the conversion up on the weekend. The one thing I'm totally in the dark on is fuel economy. I'm thinking it will be on the thirsty side. Its about a 2 1/2 hour drive coming back so I'll have a good idea soon enough...

Re: Anyone know much about JT3000 Caravelle's?
Thanks very much Russel. I also found there was nothing on the net regarding them. The reason why we assumed some sort of formal relationship with F_ord, is that the F_ord logo is alongside the JT logo on one of the original compliance plates as seen here. I saw a reference to a Synchro for sale in ...

The United Nations JT3000 Caravelle
Just picked up an '89 JT3000 Caravelle. It was originally a South African United Nations vehicle (still has big numbers on the roof). The engine upgrade (3 Ford litre V6) was done at JT Motor Engineering, a division of F_ord SA, and looks to have been done very well. Has anyone ever heard of such a ...

Re: Lounge room comfort in a T3
I also decided to make the rear loading area a little more comfy. When I first got the bus, I built a covered in platform where the rear row of seats would normally go, and bought a piece of thick hard wearing rubber matting to cover the whole area. We only needed seating for five and of course it n...

Re: Show me your tints
It certainly does cut down some of the light coming in, but it's a lot harder to see in than it is to see out. In Australia it gets pretty hot in summer so the tint definitely helps to knock the edge off the heat coming in.

Re: Lounge room comfort in a T3
It's getting out of control. Black leather is now in the back. It's a good thing I'm running out of leather now...otherwise I'd probably start on the outside next and my bus would end up looking like a porn star. http://api.ning.com/files/h7gcZ1TPc*ax1KdHYYi7lyPWZ0lGWrHTRa-Jzwk1X2xzfAoSP16qQO0*VbrzDZ...
