Re: Help - tree sap, very dirty hi-top

Oh dear getunder. Sounds like the sort of thing I would do. I have high hopes of the effects of polishing though. Hopefully it will seal and protect the paintwork and make it easier to clean in future. Our poor van has never had a polish since we got it, so it's long overdue, and I am hoping ...

Re: Help - tree sap, very dirty hi-top

Lots of things to try there Daz, Flash....and the rubber piping around the ladder is a great idea. Washing once a week though... :run . Yesterday's cleaning session has left it looking a lot better than it did, even though there are still some black streaks on it. My partner's car is under the tree ...

Re: Help - tree sap, very dirty hi-top

Thanks Wychall - that looks much simpler to use and definitely worth a go if it doesn't involve buffing. I'll put it on my list. AdrianC - our stepladder is pretty tall - the hi-top comes about waist high on me when I'm on the top metal step. Putting it against the van, rather than having it at the ...

Re: Help - tree sap, very dirty hi-top

Thank you both for those recommendations. Wychall - would that be the Mer Hybrid? It looks like it gets good results, but seems to be difficult to apply, which might be a problem, given the difficulty I have stretching out to get near the middle of the roof. The 3M Fibreglass restorer recommended by...

Re: Help - tree sap, very dirty hi-top

Thanks Elvis. I've just looked TFR up and it seems readily available. Powerful stuff, but the recommendation is to apply wax protection after use, so I'll hang on and see if anyone comes up with a wax product recommendation before using it. You also suggest a pressure washer. Is that ok to use on su...

Help - tree sap, very dirty hi-top

Hi there, we've been the lucky owners of a 1990 hi-top Westfalia for 5 or 6 years now. For all of that time it's had to live outside, but for the last two years, since we had building work done that made our driveway smaller, it has had to live on the road, under a tree. Our lovely white van now get...

Re: Has anyone fitted a JustKampers Dash Tidy please?

Thank you all for your replies. I'm re-assured to know that there's not much under the dash, and that the tidy itself seems to do the job. I'm still a bit nervous about drilling into the dash though  , but I'll have a look to see if there is anything obvious (like the stereo) near where the s...

Re: Has anyone fitted a JustKampers Dash Tidy please?

Hi b-f-c. Yes that's the same as mine, but it didn't come with any plastic screws, the top just slots onto the bottom like a box lid, nothing to fasten it there :( . I am worried about drilling holes in the dash though, in case I damage something inside it, so I'm coming to the conclusion that a str...

Re: Has anyone fitted a JustKampers Dash Tidy please?

Hi Mickeyfin. Thanks for your reply. Its not the most robust item, but I wouldn't call it flimsy - once the two parts are clipped together they seem fairly rigid, but wouldn't stand a hard knock I suppose. There are holes in the dash already where a previous owner has screwed in 3 unknown fittings, ...

Has anyone fitted a JustKampers Dash Tidy please?

Hi there, I've just bought a Dash Tidy for my LH drive T25, and wishing now I had looked at these forums as they don't seem to be highly rated. :( That said, Its just arrived, so I may as well try and fit it. The instructions aren't brilliant and I was a bit surprised to see that the 'fittings' are ...

Thanks everyone. I'll think about what you say. I thought the Camping and Caravanning club would feature mostly 'holiday parks' with shops, clubs etc - just the sort of thing we don't want to go to, but it sounds as though they have some smaller ones as well. I think some friends of our are members,...

I've had a look there. Riverside in Stratford on Avon looks good, and I've made a note of that. I was hoping to find a guide we could take with us, and decide where to stay each day. Course, the van may have other plans and we might have to tour straight back home on the back of a recovery truck :sh...

LPG tank size

Does anyone know what capacity an LPG tank on a German T25 might be? It just fuels the cooker (not the van) and may be part of the original conversion as all the guages, taps etc exactly match those in the Joker manual. This will be the first time we've put any gas in it, ready for our first trip ne...

Looking for a good campsite guide

We're off on our first camping trip next week (straight after Cropredy)  and we're looking for a good campsite guide that we can take with us. Does anyone know of a good camping guide book for England? We're looking for small, out of the way campsites rather than holiday parks. 8) 8) The ...
