Re: High pressure in water coolant

Thanks for all your replies, I'll try the tester fluid thing, at least it will narrow it down.

Cheers.

Re: Any Suggestions Please

If you earth the wire attached to the pressure switch it should stop the light buzzer, my high pressure/ low pressure light has been flashing for the past 3 years, I put it down to a break in the wire somewhere between the engine and dash board.

Re: High pressure in water coolant

Thanks for your advice Martin, the cap and expansion tank is new and pretty sure it's working as it should, I have recently had a new head gasket fitted, van runs OK and doesn't seem to overheat, could it be something to do with the bleeding of the radiator which I have read about on this site.

High pressure in water coolant

Hope someone out there can help me. The engine is a 1.9 turbo diesel, When the engine is running at normal temperature, air pressure is being pumped out of the expansion tank and into the water resevoir, am I right in thinking that this shouldn't happen?, the cap is working as it should, the engine ...

Re: Popping out of gear

I've had the popping out of gear problem for the past three years, the gears haven't got any worst, I just have to hold it in gear when starting off, however I would still factor in an extra grand for a rebuild, still worth it if the rest of the van is cosher.

Re: Diff lock dilemma

Thanks Dan, good advice about the lights, the chances are if there not working neither are the diffs, agreed - it bugs me if there not working, even if I may never use them. And thanks for the links.

Diff lock dilemma

Good day. I wonder if someone can help me, first of all better tell you what I’ve got, it’s a 1988 syncro 1600 turbo diesel camper with front & rear diff locks. Due to the bad weather we’ve been having lately I may have to start using the diff locks, which haven’t been touch for the past 4 years...

Re: Removing windows

Removing the windows is much easier then putting them back, better and cheaper to remove them yourself, then call autoglass to come and fit them back in when you are finnished, they charge about £60.

Re: battery drain

Easyest way to find out is, disconect earth wire from battery, with ignition switched off, connect a 12v test light between earth terminal & earth wire, if light lights up, then you have a power leak. To find the problem start with the lights that you have just installed, disconnect them and see...

Re: dead battery

Was your leisure battery also flat?, if so then what might have happened is that the isolation switch is faulty, so this would drain your leisure battery then it would start to drain the van battery also, If you want to test for leakage, Make sure everything is switched off, disconnect the negative ...

If you have 3.7 on the rear, the front should be about 3.1, don't think it matters what the size is, I'm sure if you search on this site you'll find info on tyre pressures,

Good luck. :D
