Re: Dilemma and query...maybe for sale...
Shed is a bit harsh!!!
To be honest that engine bay carpet gives a worse imprssion of the interior than it really is, it is by far the worst bit.....

Re: Dilemma and query... maybe for sale...
thanks for the responses guys. Any views on where the best prices are achieved.. i.e. on here, Brickyard, Volkszone, Autotrader, fleabay etc??? :ok The pics below are a bit old, but the main change is the interior has been cleaned up a bit!!! It currently has merc steels with AT tyres on, but I thin...

Dilemma and query...maybe for sale...SOLD
.... unfortunately I might have to sell my Syncro Caravelle, which will be gutting especially since I have just got it going how I wanted. Not sure really what it'd be worth though Its a 1989 RHD 2.1DJ Syncro Caravelle GL with working front and rear difflocks. Its done about 230000 miles total with ...

Re: Recomended tyres for my new 15" rims?
I like my new Cooper Discoverer ATR, but the side walls definitely don't feel as stiff as the C rated van tyres I have on my 14" wheels. (Think you can get 8 ply ones in certain sizes?) Grip in the snow was amazing, struggled to break traction no matter how hard I tried!!!!

Re: "kangarooing" 2.1DJ
Still wasn't driving perfect , but I put it back into the garage today. Provided them with the specs for the DJ off Brickyard and they've set the timing again and checked the vac advance, set the CO and HC. All is apparently well. Last time they set it all as low as possible so maybe a tad too lean,...

Re: ISCU Failure
Fixed my ISCU with a new Power Transistor (there are 2 BD438 Transistors on the board, I had 2 ISCUs which were both knackered, so I took all 4 Transistors off, measured them and put the 2 good ones onto one board, but you can get the bit for about 35p, I just couldn't be bothered to wait for a deli...

Re: "kangarooing" 2.1DJ
No, no timing gun. Thought i'd leave that bit to the professionals since it'd need the CO set too, maybe have to invest in one, they're not exactly expensive. There have been a number of dodgy connections in that engine bay too. The loom was pretty butchered.... not sure if it is the original one. M...

Re: ISCU Failure
Have a while back. Got 3 at the moment!!! All don't appear to work in different ways!
Just figure it isn't a massively complicated bit, so should be fixable....... just depends how long it takes!

Re: "kangarooing" 2.1DJ
more positive, maybe more persistant, definitely more successful, definitely not :trunk Looks like I may need to source another ISCU. Before that though I need to check whether the ISCU is actually getting the engine speed signal (continuity from ECU pin), 'tis getting the Temp II signal. It's been ...

Re: "kangarooing" 2.1DJ
No connection from ISCU to the Power steering switch wires. Discovered where they have been chopped and realised the PS pump has 2 spade connectors attached to the terminals without wires coming out of them!!!!! DOn't think it should make a difference, but it is yet another factor!

ISCU Failure
When as ISCU fails is there a normal or typical failure mode? They are basically a box full of resistors, capacitors, transistors and a couple of chips. The only thing I have managed to find on a US website was a comment about changing the "usual" failed transistor that overheats and the 5...
