Hello Sarran,
Yes, I have fixed the leaking carbs, just need to set them up properly but I wanted to get the timing right before I went any further with the carbs.
That's great. Will set it to that. To be honest I think that was roughly where it was to get it running.
Many thanks.

I was told to set the dizzy up as follows.... 30 degree BTDC @ 2700 revs. Vacuum pipe capped off. I have made a timing mark as follows... Pulley wheel circumference 62 cm. 62 divided by 360, means...

Re: Weber 34 ICT twin carbs
Hi,
I have fixed the carb leaks...new seals on butterfly arm that goes through carb, plus some hylomar on gaskets, and reset float height.
Now have some timings issues....put it as a new post.
Cheers for all your help.

Re: Weber 34 ICT twin carbs
Hi, Thanks for reply. I have just taken off carbs, again. :D I think it maybe the seals on the butterfly shaft. They seemed pretty sloppy. Put some new ones on and seems much tighter. Could it be fuel leaking along butterfly shaft and then running down along the the accelerator pump arm and dripping...

Re: Weber 34 ICT twin carbs
Hi, I now have the engine running. Haven't tuned it yet as have carb leak. It's leaking from the accelerator pump, and dripping from the arm that pushes the diaphragm. See picture. I have changed the diaphragm. Is there a nack to fitting these? It also is leaking from gasket to manifold. Is it over ...

Re: Weber 34 ICT twin carbs
Many thanks Dueller, I will just cap of the existing line. I hear what you say about the fuel lines, I thought it was just me, the rubber lines don't seem to last at all. I have rigged up a metal line with just short lengths of rubber line to connect to the carbs. Only have to replace small bits rat...

Weber 34 ICT twin carbs
Hi, As I understand it the Weber 34 ICT carbs do not need an over run to the petrol tank, unlike the original solex pict 34 carb on my van. So you run a fuel line from the fuel pump to a regulator, set to 2 to 2.5 bar pressure, then a fuel line direct to the two carbs. Is this correct? If it is, wha...

Weber Dual Carb Hex Bar Throttle Linkage
Hi, Putting dual Weber carbs on 1600 CT engine. I am struggling how to link my vans existing throttle cable to the hex bar linkage between my Weber 34 dual carbs. The hex bar has a fitting but clearly this needs modifying/extending to get it to work with the original throttle cable. Is there a kit/p...

Re: EMPI dual carb linkage hex bar thread
Hi Aidan,
Thanks for your reply. I have contacted a couple, am still waiting for a reply.
Just wondered if anyone on here knew so I could get the nuts myself?
Thanks.

EMPI dual carb linkage hex bar thread
Hi, Does anyone know what thread size (diameter and pitch) the two bolts that screw into the hex bar on an EMPI dual carb linkage hex bar is? Trying to get a couple of lock nuts. The pitch on the ball joint adjusters seems quite fine. I do not have any lock nuts, so tried to order some. No joy. Gues...

Re: 1766 CC ENGINE BUILD UPDATE
Hello, Only just saw to this. Sadly the engine is still not done. I have run into some problems with the build. Namely a wierd knock when you turn the engine by hand. I am still trying to sort this. Mixture of running out of steam and corona have slowed me down. Many thanks for your interest. Can gi...

Oil Cooler Mount Gasket CT SKU: 070-117-289 That's the VW heritage part number. Just ordered one. There should be a paper seal below t...

Gasket between oil cooler tower and block. Should there be o
Hi, am just putting my oil cooler and tower back on the engine. 1600 air-cooled CT engine. In my gasket kit, there are two round rubber gaskets that go on the top of the tower. Seal between the tower and the oil cooler. See picture. I do not have a gasket to seal between the bottom of the tower and ...
