Re: Poor Running on Petrol fine on LPG
Cheers Steve, spent some time on the engine checking through. The car idles fine now, there was a poor connection on one of the choke connections. The problem is clearer now. The engine starts and idles fine on Petrol, but when you open the throttle the engine struggles, even when warm. If I use ful...

Re: Poor Running on Petrol fine on LPG
Fresh Petrol, All the vac hoses are fine, I'll double check, but think I have illiminated any air hose problems. I have just replaced the fuel hose due to a leak in the hose wall, I replaced all the fuel hose as it appeared to be perished, even though it was replaced a sfew year ago when the recon e...

Poor Running on Petrol fine on LPG
Van has just been in for the MOT. Passed, no problems. She is running OK on lpg, but wont idle well even when warm. If I switch to Petrol she only barely runs, feeling like she is only running on 1 bank. Petrol supply is fine, I was thinking this could be a blocked jet? Would that also explain poor ...

Re: Plans or photos wanted for Danbury Autoroof
Hi, I have a 1981 Danbury and it is pretty original, as I am only the second owner! However the original purchaser had the electric roof removed when he bought it new! Along with Fridge and a number of other things. Welcome to come and look at mine, its in Oxford or I can take pics.. It still has th...

Re: Aircooled - Vege recon engine noisy - tappets?
You need to buy the Short manifolds, which are available, Jason on the forum had a few suggestions on where to buy them, but people such as LA performace will help you out. I bought the slim pancakes which fit under the engine hatch with no mods. No chokes, just a few pumps, I use my van all year an...

Re: Aircooled - Vege recon engine noisy - tappets?
Sorry for the delay reply. The Dellortos are fine on the Aircooled engine, it makes a big difference when you are going uphill and I find I can trail on a light throttle on the Mway. If you put your foot down hard it does shift fuel, otherwise it is much the same as before on a run at 60 ish. Around...

Re: Aircooled - Vege recon engine noisy - tappets?
OK, that makes sense.
Lets assume that the vege hydraualic lifters are not as good as the original VW ones.
I'll do another oil change shortly and adjust them up when nice and warm... must remeber to buy some new rocker gaskets first..
Cheers

Re: Door Mirror Fix?
I solved my last replacement (carp) one by trying a add an extra washer trick..
It really did do the job!
I only had to adjust it again when it was really gusty winds

Aircooled - Vege recon engine noisy - tappets?
I think I may know the answer before I type, but I am still a little uncomfortable about the current engine running. I replaced the Aircooled engine with a New Vege engine last year, since then I have had it set up, run in and properly set up again on the rolling road at the end of last year. This y...

Re: Aircooled - Water in engine oil
I get this from time to time and have had it both on the original engine and the new recon Vege engine.
It seems to me it must be condensation?
I only ever seem to see it when the van is used n short runs or laid up for a while.
But it was only ever a tiny amount in the filler cap top.

Found Original copy of Zig CF6 Manual
I have found my original copy which came with the van when it was new.
Scanned in & available to anyone who needs it.
Its only a double side printed A4, if anyone can host it on their site I can send them a copy.
Cheers

Re: Door Mirror - Where can I buy convex?
Update!
You can buy them direct from a VW Commerical Dealer.
Convex is £47.98
Flat is £39.38
Including VAT.
Ouch, GSF do 2 qualities, but both are Flat.
Any other suggestions for a convex mirror?
Cheers
