Re: recommend a good restoration garage
So can this be right that (apart from Metalmickey - who says he's too busy), there are no other bodyworkers / painters in the whole Yorkshire region that anyone can recommend ?

any good bodywork garages in Yorkshire?
I'm still searching for a good body worker in the Yorkshire area. I live just north of Leeds and have 1981 T25 that needs body work and painting. Have previously used garages in Otley and Ilkley but they've not produced good results. Have contacting Dub-Tricks in Harrogate but they say they're busy ...

recommend a good restoration garage
Please could anyone suggest a good garage where I could have my T25 restored (bodywork welding & paintwork .... plus engine work) - ideally within a 40 - 50 miles radius of Otley (West Yorkshire). I've already used local garages in both Otley and Ilkley but been disappointed with the results!! T...

Re: Mounting spare wheel
Thanks Fritz, The 'cheap as chips' route sounds good. Do you know if it's critical where the bolts for the bracket go through the front body work? Would they need to bolt through into a structural element behind to carry weight of spare wheel? Has anyone out there fixed this kind of bracket on a T25...

Mounting spare wheel
Does anyone have any advise about fixing the spare wheel on the front 'nose' of a T25 ..... as on some bays. Has anyone done this successfully and if so, please could you advise the best fixing points & method. Any photos would be useful.
thanks

Steve,
Just to add an additional bit of background info ...... my van is a 1981 air cooled 2 ltr, if that makes a difference.

oil pressure light
Thanks Steve, Yes, both battery & oil lights always come on when the key is turned then go off immediately the van starts from cold. The difference comes when the van's been running and then stopped for say, twenty minutes (so the engine is still warm). Then when I turn the key, although the bat...

Oil pressure light
My oil pressure light has always come on (then gone off straight away) when I turn the ignition key when the van is totally cold ............ (which seems normal) ...... but recently my van's oil light has started not coming on when the engine is warmer and the key is turned. Is this a bad sign. In ...

suitable paint for tinware
Could anyone advise on which paint would be the best to use? I have an 81 2 ltr air cooled and my tinware is rusting badly. I've replaced those bits I could get hold of and the rest, I've rubbed down, applied rust stopper and now need to repaint. Would like to use 'Smoothrite' (by Hammerite) but a l...

fitting a twin headlight grill
could anyone advise on how the inner 'spot' lights fit in a twin round headlight grill. I've bought an old T25 moulded grill (made by Taifun) which came without any lights. Alignment of the original head lights looks fine but place where the inner spot lights should go seems obstructed by part of th...
