Fanx LHD, I will attempt it this weekend hopefully, Im slowly loosing faith in the so called proffesional garages as they told me it was a major job and quoted me over £200 to do!!!!!!! Think im gonna take a copy of yr reply into them or maybe publish a page on my website and name names lol Not sure...

Me again :( 1983 T25 High Top Diesel. I have to replace the lower suspension ball joint........ Do I need any special tools? How easy or hard is it? Will I need to compress the spring? Just got mine from GSF - £2:20 per side......dont forget yr washers and steel sleeves too Pompey, what part nos did you get for yours for "2-20, so we can imptove the Wiki please - Ta! Didnt use a part number.........can pop in there later to see them if you like me to get one......only 5 mins...

the van is an 83............I asked the MOT station is it was a ball joint and they said it was a kingpin!!!!!!!

Might be why why they quoted an incredible amount of money to replace!!!!!

King Pin Replacement

Just got my van back from the MOT.........failed on nearside King Pin, lower suspension Ball Joint.

How easy a job is it to replace and what pit falls might i come accross?

Fanx HarryMann, got most of the spares together.....but made the mistake of only getting one link bar from syncrospares!!!!!! Live and learn I guess.

Looks like i will be out hammering the cr*p out of it tonight then :x

Hi, I am in the process of changing a roll bar link on my 83 van. THE PROBLEM...... I can get the link bar off because of serious corrosion of the steel spacer at the bottom of the link bar..... Have tride jacking up the van in the bolt.....no good have tried heat......still not budging Any suggesti...
