Hi Martin, you were right ref impact socket. Brother in law had it wrapped up in about 3 minutes! All I have to do now is get the train to bulford in order to fit the wretched thing!

Well, getting the old one off wasn't a problem to be fair, but finding a socket that would fit inside the sleeve to reach the nut on the new one has evaded me. Hey ho, train home tomorrow. Still, my father in law who jinxed me last weekend will hopefully sort it at his garage... Thanks again for all...

Thanks all, will give it a bash on Monday and keep you posted... Fingers crossed I'll just cut the head off and the brake drum will come straight off and there won't be any other issues...

But surely it leaves the main part of the bolt in place holding it in place? Or can it be wrestled off once the head has been cut off?

We haven't had a working reverse light for years as its one of those "better things to be doing jobs" . We went around Europe for three weeks last year and had no issues at all, if that allays your fears.
